ABOUT THE CONTRIBUTORS
Norman Conti is a Professor of Sociology at Duquesne University of the Holy Spirit and a founding member of the Elsinore Bennu Think Tank for Restorative Justice. He has published widely on police socialization and coauthored research on destigmatization and humility among activists.
Christopher Ferree: Whether as a salesman in mass-market fashion or luxury retail, or as a Coordinator of Visitor Experience at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, impeccability, graciousness, and thoughtfulness have been the guiding principles of Ferree's career.
Stacey Hannem is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Criminology at Wilfrid Laurier University in Brantford (Ontario), Canada, and past Vice-President (2019) of the Society for the Study of Symbolic Interaction. Her research considers how marginalized people experience the effects of legal and regulatory structures in their everyday lives.
Michael A. Katovich is a Professor of Sociology and Chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Texas Christian University. He received his PhD from the University of Iowa, where he studied symbolic interactionism and social processes under the tutelage of Carl Couch. His research and teaching emphasizes symbolic interactionist approach advocated by Couch.
Krzysztof T. Konecki is a Professor of Sociology and works at the Institute of Sociology, Faculty of Economics and Sociology, University of Lodz. He is the editor-in-chief of Qualitative Sociology Review and holds the position of President of Polish Sociological Association and is the member of the Committee of Sociology of the Polish Academy of Science.
Joseph A. Kotarba is Professor of Sociology and Director of the Music Across the Life Course Project at Texas State University. He also serves as Medical Sociologist at the Institute for Translational Sciences at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. He is currently writing on interactionist features of team science; music experiences among senior citizens; and the persistence of existential ideas in contemporary intellectual life.
Erick Laming is a PhD candidate in criminology at the University of Toronto. He is a member of the Shabot Obaadjiwan First Nation and his research largely focuses on police use of force, police oversight and accountability, and Indigenous community members perceptions of and experiences with the criminal justice system.
Veronica Manlow is a Sociologist Teacher in the Department of Management in Brooklyn College's Koppelman School of Business. Recent research focuses on those who work within the luxury fashion sector in various roles, specifically as salespersons and as designers and artisans who work for global brands and smaller independent firms.
Marco Marzano is Professor of Sociology at the University of Bergamo, Italy. His research focuses on Catholicism, cancer, illness narratives, and organization theory. He is also interested in ethical issues and autoethnography.
Gil Richard Musolf is Professor Emeritus from the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at Central Michigan University. He has published on symbolic interactionism in a variety of journals, including: The Sociological Quarterly
