Ren Amalberti is a professor of medicine, physiology, and ergonomics. He was involved in several major European research programs on human error and risk management. He progressively diversified his research fields, studying risk management in the nuclear and oil industries, professional fishing, and public ground transportation.
Darren Ashcroft holds the Foundation Chair in Pharmacoepidemiology at the University of Manchester and is the founding Director of the Centre for Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety. He has reviewed on a wide range of national research committees, authored over 150 academic papers, and secured a number of highly competitive research grants in the fields of medicines usage and patient safety.
Erin Berry is a registered physiotherapist. She is currently conducting a pilot research project with the purpose of developing quality descriptors for acute pediatric rehabilitation, with the intention, through further research, to develop a quality indicator tool to create an objective measure of quality of care.
Briana Broderick is one of the key members for the Master of Science in Healthcare Quality at Queens University, Kingston, Canada. She has published several articles in the area of healthcare quality education and provides ongoing support to the graduates, students, and faculty in the program.
Sidney Dekker is currently Professor at Griffith University in Australia, where he has founded the Safety Science Innovation Lab, and Honorary Professor at the School of Psychology at The University of Queensland. He is an expert on patient safety, just culture, and second victimhood.
Aryn Gatto is currently a Senior Project Manager with the Provincial Council for Maternal and Child Health, where she coordinates the Ontario Paediatric Diabetes Network. She also has experience working in the fields of cancer care and cardiac rehabilitation. Her research interests include patient-centered care, health promotion, improving the patient experience, and enhancing healthcare quality.
Maggie Green is a registered physiotherapist who is currently the National Practice Leader with BMS Canada Risk Services Ltd. (Ottawa, ON), where she is responsible for the organizations professional liability insurance program medico-legal risk management. Maggies research interests focus on health professional practice risk, including medical malpractice trends and liability insurance coverage, and how they relate to the quality and safety of care.
Margaret B. Harrison is a professor emeritus at Queens University and was the first director and still holds a role as co-director of the Queens Joanna Briggs Collaboration. The focus of her research program is continuity of care for complex health populations and evidence-based practice.
Amber Hastings is a research associate in the office of health sciences education and a doctoral candidate at Queens University, Kingston, Canada.
Erik Hollnagel is a world renowned resilience expert. He is presently a professor at the University of Southern Denmark and Chief Consultant at the Centre for Quality Improvement, Region of Southern Denmark.
Alireza Jaffer holds a double major in psychology and neuroscience. His research interests include the role of mental health and emotional well-being in mediating clinician workplace performance, as well as the patient safety consequences of burnout and depression in physicians.
Kieran Jordan graduated from Carleton University with a degree in political science before going on to obtain a Masters degree in health administration from the University of Ottawa. Kierans research interests focus on safe and quality care for seniors.
Allen Kachalia is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Harvard School of Public Health. He also has a law degree, and teaches and maintains research interest in legal issues in medicine, including malpractice system reform and disclosure, and how they relate to the quality and safety of medical care.
Laura Kinderman is a Health Education Researcher and Consultant in the Office of Health Sciences Education, Queens University, Kingston, Canada. She has contributed to the curriculum development within the Patient Safety Education Program Canada.
Janne Lehmann Knudsen is the Director of Quality and Safety at the Danish Cancer Society, and an Associated Professor at the University of Copenhagen. A specialist in public health medicine, She is one of the primary innovators in the field of quality and safety in Danish healthcare.
Nancy Leveson is a Professor of Aeronautics, Astronautics, and Engineering Systems representing Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. She consults extensively in many industries on accident prevention.
