Although it might seem odd to some, my most heartfelt appreciation must first go to the Watcher Georgia, who came into my life just when I thought Id completed the obligation Id taken on to write the three books of The DETA Factor. It was to be one book every ten years to explore and record the impact nonhuman intelligences were having at this crucial point in Earths history. Then I could get out of this writing business and back to my drawing board. But along came Georgia with her need and desire to tell all. How could I possibly refuse?!

This series of Georgias Confessions, of which this book, Rebel Angels in Exile, is the third volume, have been an all-consuming passion for me these past few years, so Ive appreciated the work that Anne Dillon, who edited my previous books, has put into this volume. Celestial and interplanetary politics are complex and not easy to grasp, so Annes input has been an invaluable help in showing what needs further clarification.

Once again Ive been fortunate to work with my project editor, Chanc VanWinkle Orzell, who not only appears adept at keeping an improbable number of balls in the air simultaneously, bringing the focus of a ballet dancer and a sensitive, first-class intelligence to bear on the final and most important stage of the editing process. She pulls it all together, and quite magically (from a writers point of view) she is guaranteed to improve it. As Ive done with Georgias previous books, I sent this volume in manuscript form to Susan P. Marie for her to dowse each sentence and concept in Georgias reporting for its truth content. I find this helpful and encouraging when there are only a small handful of queries in a book. Writing as I do with Georgia has some of the qualities of skydiving (the faith its going to work this time); surfing (the confidence to think I can stay on the wave); and tight-rope walking (its all a question of balance), so Im indebted to Susan for her encouragement in uncharted territories. It was in the latter part of this volume that her dowsing showed positive on one of Georgias most intriguing speculationsone I hardly dared think might be soa revelation that deeply affects every one of us.

Robert Davis of the Daynal Institute is one of the few people who has read all Georgias volumes to date and has been consistently encouraging for the work to get into print. Roberts profound and unique understanding of that most difficult of cosmologies, The Urantia Book, and his approval of Georgias insights and the questions she seeks to tease out of history have helped give me courage to continue.

As my avocation is graphic art I always like to drop in a handful of my graphic pieces that I find can connect with the reader, sometimes in a more direct way. I also include two of the more elaborate graphics (plates 3 and 5) that Juno (June Atkin Sanders)my beloved Artnerand I do collaboratively. These are large Prismacolor on watercolor paper that we send back and forth through snail mail, each adding our contributions until its finished.
