The best way of honoring Dewey is to work on Dewey's problemsto reconstruct his insights, to see, if need be, farther than Dewey saw. If it may be given to us to see farther, it will be largely because he pointed out to us where to look. In that way, you and I can be really working with Dewey, as he always wanted us to do, and sharing in that enjoyed meaning that was, and is, and will continue to be John Dewey.
John Herman Randall, Jr., "John Dewey, 18591952" 1953: 13
