Mel B., a recovering alcoholic, has written numerous articles and essays on the subject of Twelve Step programs. He is a retired business writer and has lived in Toledo, Ohio, since 1972, where he edits a monthly senior citizens section for a weekly newspaper group and contributes occasional articles to the daily newspaper, The Blade. Born in Norfolk, Nebraska, he served in the United States Navy in the Pacific during World War II and later lived and worked for many years in Jackson, Michigan. He and his wife, Lori, a fashion illustrator for a Toledo department store group, have four grown children and three grandchildren.
