Some Wise Witchy Words

The Craft of the Witch is creative and borne of wild places in nature and - photo 4

The Craft of the Witch is creative and borne of wild places in nature and inside the soul. Like any Craft that involves flames and sharp objects, Witchcraft poses some inherent risk.

Always place a fireproof dish beneath candles and incense. Leave clearance above and around flames. Do not place flammable objects near flames and never leave flames or burning incense unattended. Users of this book take full responsibility when using fire.

The author and publisher are not liable or responsible for any outcome of magickal spells performed from this book or otherwise. Readers agree to cast spells, work with fire, ingest herbs, soak in bath salts, light candles and incense, channel deities and perform any and all other magickal practices at their own risk.

Readers accept full personal risk and responsibility for the outcome, consequence and magick of any spells they cast.

Blessings to you as you forge your own unique magickal journey

For my father, Kevin Horne

Dad, I know I was a handful as a teenager and you were tough on me.
But because of you I learned to work hard and not give up... and I achieved extraordinary life experiences.
Thank you for everything and may you rest in beautiful peace.

Introduction

Twenty years ago Teen Witches and would-be Witches seemed to be everywhere and - photo 14

Twenty years ago, Teen Witches and would-be Witches seemed to be everywhere and they were. But 20 years ago there was also no social media, no #WitchesofInstagram no reality TV. Now Teen Witches meet after school in groups or get online for full moon rituals in different towns or countries via Zoom. Or they find time alone to cast spells to help them pass tests, to attract boyfriends or girlfriends, or to help them get along with their parents. Modern Teen Witches are taking selfies of their magickal work and of them looking Witchy, or taking photos of their favourite oracle-card spreads and hashtagging them to attract more followers on Instagram (where the biggest wave of online Witches currently congregates). Or they may tune into their favourite magickal podcast, like Tonya Browns The Witch Daily Show and Lucy Cavendishs The WitchCast. Or they might make a Witchy playlist on Spotify and promote it to get followers (check out my current fave The Season of the Witch). And then there are the Moon Children not all are avowed Witches but all are making magick with moon worship, checking esoteric moon reports daily and arranging their social calendars and school commitments according to the phases of the moon.
