He, himself, has overcome poverty, learning disabilities, living in the street, and other serious challenges; earning a masters degree, working as social worker, becoming a prominent speaker, and developing and implementing the empirically founded Why Try? program that is widely used in building the resilience of youth. In my books, The Speed of Trust and Smart Trust, I make the case that trust is essential to prosperity, energy, and joy. After reading Christian Moores new book, I feel Ive been introduced to another essential: resilience.

When a friend of mine gave me a copy of The Resilience Breakthrough, I was instantly struck by the title. It espouses a timeless truth: When we find our inner resilience in the midst of a world of unrelenting change and uncertainty, it truly is a breakthrough. Indeed, Ive become convinced that the key attribute that enables an individual, team, or organization to thrive in the midst of the turbulence we all encounter is resilience. Christian has written a book that not only shares a fascinating personal journey of resilience but also gives us a set of principles, tools, and skills that anyone at any stage or station in life can learn and apply, giving them a resilience breakthrough.
