Minecraft Pocket Edition is the mobile/smartphone version of the popular Minecraft gaming franchise. It was first launched on Google Play exclusively for the Xperia in August 2011 but was also released for all smartphones on October of the same year.
Just like the original Minecraft game, the main objective of the game is to let the player create his own virtual environment and live his own virtual reality. Interactions are done by touchscreen options and via soft keys on the Android Operating System. What makes this edition different, though, is that it does not have the survival options of the original Minecraft such as hunger, training and Redstone circuits.
While it was first released with the same graphics that the first Minecraft had but after the 08.0 update, it is said that Minecraft Pocket Editions graphics have become better, especially when it comes to shading and tinting.

As this is not the original Minecraft, you have to expect that there are some things from the original Minecraft or Minecraft Alpha that are not included in this game and thats why you should not waste your time trying to play this game the way you played Minecraft Alpha because there really are some differences. What are those? Read on to find out.
Crafting is done using MATTIS (Minecraft Advanced Touch Technology Interface System). This means that instead of the usual 2 x2 and 2 x 3 grids, you will be introduced to four categories that will aid you to build your own Minecraft world: Food and Armor, Tools, Blocks and Decorations. Once you tap on each category, you will be able to find a list of items that you can make from each menu. Just tap on your desired item and tap the number of times you wish to use the said item to be able to create an object.
There are no Poppies or Poppy Flowers present, but there are Cyan Flowers. However, you may not easily find them because they are named as Rose in the hot bar. Flowers are important in this game when it comes to Aesthetic purposes because they can help beautify your area.
You can easily find Red Dye that you can use to color your Roses by crafting using beetroots or smelting some Red Mushrooms. You can also use Red Dye to color wool. As you play this game, you will realize how important wool is because you will be able to use it to craft different objects and shelter and you will also be able to use it to tie some items, especially important ones such as torches that will help you spawn some objects and creatures.
There is no Nether present, too, but there is the Nether Reactor. By placing the Nether Reactor with Gold and Cobblestone, you will be able to take up an ample amount of space in one area. This is called the Nethertrack Fortress.
Dont expect the Zombie Pigment Spawn to just come at you easilyit is naturally hostile towards the player. Speaking of Zombies, you can Zombie-proof your door by getting at an angle of 90 degrees in any space in your area. Once you have done this, place a door in there and make sure that it is open. Why? Because zombies think differently and they will think that this door is actually closed when in fact, its open. Thats also a tip that you have to follow when it comes to your other doors. Do not leave your doors closed if you do not want zombies to come after you and destroy your home.
6. Items that are scattered around the room just spawn randomly. One tip that you have to keep in mind would be to make use of all those items and to not throw away any itemespecially the reusable ones. Put them in your inventory because you never know when you might need them.
7. One of the items that are retained from Minecraft Alpha is the Stonecutter. Make use of this as it allows you to craft all types of bricks, stone and even quartz. This will also be able to display different ingredients of certain objects or food products in the game. Youll see the stonecutter near some trees and you will recognize it by its handle and spare blade. Keep it in your inventory or put it on your crafting table to be able to use it easily.
8. Another advantage of Minecraft Pocket Edition is that you can get access to Beetroots and food products that are made from it such as Beetroot Soup and Beetroot Seeds. Beetroot is also very useful because you can use it to craft Red Rose which will also give you 0.5 heart. Look for Beetroot Seeds near the Nether Reactor.
9. The Nether Reactor will also be able to generate some Glowing Obsidian for you. The Glowing Obsidian is a Red Object that emits dim light. It is also sometimes known as the Gold Killer. Why? Because it turns Gold Blocks from the reactor onto itself.
10. You can grow Sugar Cane using the Bone Meal. Just plant Sugar Cane on either sand or soil, throw some bone meal into it and watch it grow quickly. This cannot be done in Minecraft Alpha but is very much possible in this edition of the game. Basically, bone meal acts like a fertilizer which is definitely good if youre the type who wants to grow different plants around.
More of the things that you can expect in Minecraft: Pocket Edition.
11. Cold-En Oak Trees are present in this game but only because they are glitches and are rarely generated. This is one good example of Serendipity, but then again, you have to take note that theyre not really useful in the game and thats why you do not have to waste your time looking for them when you can actually use your time looking for or creating other things.
12. There is actually a Survival Mode of this game. Just tap Options, tap Survival Mode and you will be able to find it. Dont think that just because its the Pocket Edition of Minecraft does it mean that you would no longer have the option to challenge yourself and try to fight some enemies.
13. You will not be able to obtain Ink Sacsin Minecraft Pocket Edition Survival Mode. You cannot also use cocoa beans and gray dye, but dont worry because they are all found and can be used in the Creative Mode.

14. It would be best to know the difference between Survival and Creative Modes. This is so that you would not be wasting your time trying to play one mode if its actually the other mode that you really want to play.
15. Survival Mode is all about, well, trying to live and survive by means of creating your own living quarters and fighting off monsters.
