F OREWORD

T here is a new generation of believers being awakened to prophetic worship. Kathryn Summers Kelley is a vanguard in awakening this generation. Kathryn has a burning passion to see psalmists, minstrels, and worshippers move in the power of the Holy Spirit in worship. She has been a strong worship leader for many years, and she has operated in the prophetic anointing as long as I have known her.

I am so excited that she has written this book on prophetic worship. There is a new wave of revelation coming forth with the resurgence of prophetic worship. This book provides insight on the importance of prophecy in worship, and will stir psalmists, minstrels, and worship leaders to arise and fulfill their callings to usher people into the presence of God.

I have personally drawn from the insight that Kathryn offers on the subject of worship. She has helped me as a pastor gain more understanding of the power of prophetic worship, and why it is vital to the strength of local churches. Kathryn has also been instrumental in imparting to many emerging psalmists and minstrels. Her sensitivity to the Holy Spirit in worship has been a great blessing to our local assembly.

Worship was always the goal of the ages. The Father seeks worshippers. Worship must be done in Spirit and in truth. God has called the nations to worship, and every generation is required to worship. The Holy Spirit is our Helper in worship. We depend on His leading and anointing to give what the Lord requires. This cannot be done in the fleshit can only be accomplished in the Spirit.

Prophecy, spontaneous songs, new songs, and new sounds are important if we are to experience the new thing that God desires to do in our lives. Worshipping with prophetic people is always refreshing and revelatory. Prophetic worship causes the heavens to be opened and the glory of God to manifest in our midst.

We need anointed psalmists and minstrels in every assembly. We need the spirit of prophecy, and we need to be activated prophetically in order to flow in the river of God. We are now ministering in the legacy of David, Chenaniah, Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and other Levites. This book will help you understand what prophetic worship is, and why we need to move in it consistently.
