Introduction
You hold in your hands a remarkable little book. You can learn how to use these short meditations to reduce stress, to control pain, to improve the quality of your life, and to create joy and happiness. Actually, you can learn to use them to create whatever you want.
As the title implies, these meditations are short. They are very easy to use, yet they are incredibly powerful. Your mind is an extremely creative bio-computer. It makes a great tool once you know how to use it. You can use it to go on vacation without leaving home, you can feel loved and accepted in the midst of judgment, and you can experience ease in a world that often seems very stressful.
Once you learn how to use your mind effectively rather than letting your thoughts run the show, it is amazing how easily you can transform your life. The short meditations in this book will show you how to get rid of stress, be happy no matter what, relax, walk on the beach while sitting at home, and just generally improve the quality of life. Seem a bit outrageous? Believe me, it isnt!
How to Use This Book
Everyone can visualizethats how we think. If I say Think about a red fire truck, you may not actually see one, but you can describe it. Some people visualize in words, some in sounds, some with feelings, and some actually see pictures. How you visualize is how you visualize. There is no right or wrong way to do it.
The short meditations in this book will give you the opportunity to use your imagination to change anything you want. You can use this book several ways. I suggest you thoroughly read Part 1 so you understand how to use the meditations. The rest is up to you. You could start at the beginning and go through the book systematically, open the book randomly, or even look in the index and find a meditation specifically designed to cure what ails you. Youll find a little dove symbol at the start and end of each meditation so you can find them easily.
Just relax, have fun, and allow for the possibility that this stuff can work for you, too. When I was first introduced to this type of meditation, I thought it might work for other people, but it certainly wouldnt work for me. Over the past 30 years I have witnessed amazing results in peoples lives as long as they were willing to actually use the meditations. So, be ready to let go of some of your old beliefs and, as we say here in Hawaii, Tie your slippers tight because youre in for quite a ride.
This book is divided into four parts:
Part 1, So Thats How to Use My Brain, shows you how to use short meditations and explains a bit about how your brain operates.
Part 2, Thats Life, explores how you can improve the quality of your life in many areas.
Part 3, How Else Can I Do That? is full of new ways for you to look at life and shows you how to get in touch with the limitless possibilities life holds.
Part 4, So Now What? shows you numerous ways to use short meditations and apply the techniques youve learned.

Part 1
So Thats How to Use My Brain
Your brain is an incredible bio-computer, but most of us never received the instruction manual, or if we did, we didnt understand it. You can do just about anything with your mind once you know how. I still remember how frustrated I used to get with my first computer. If youve never used a computer, even though it is capable of doing lots of wonderful things, you may find it hard to get it to do what you want. The same is true of your brain.
You know how to think. It is just that the way you think often fails to create what you want. You want to be happy, yet unconsciously your thoughts create stress and disharmony. You can learn to use your mind to create what you want, when you want, and you dont have to leave the comfort of your favorite chair to do it.

Imagine that you just bought the perfect car of the future. It can automatically take you anyplace. You tell it where you want to go, and it finds the best route and avoids traffic jams. It can even take you to the best restaurants. You thoroughly enjoy sitting back and letting your car drive you to your destinations. Then one day youre on your way to the movies and you see your best friend stranded by the side of the road. You tell the car to stop, but it wont. It has begun to think it is in charge.
