Carolyn Flynn
Foreword
Im a huge fan of visualization. How could it be otherwise? My entire business, Intuitive Consulting, Inc., began as the result of using the affirmation and visualization techniques that authors Shari Just and Carolyn Flynn so compellingly write about in this life-changing book. Heres how it happened.
In 1987, I was the Operations Manager of a small software company near Boston. I really disliked being there and I dreamed of developing my own business. I had taken classes on intuition development and discovered that I had a wealth of natural talent in this area. My main concern: could I develop such an exotic skill into a business? I quipped that if God posted a Psychic Wanted ad in the employment section of the Boston Globe, Id apply. Barring that, I wasnt sure where to begin. So I decided to try using my newfound tools of affirming, visualizing, and asking the Universe for help.
About a month later, a friend who had been sick for a long time died. As I walked into the room for his funeral service I felt a strong inclination to sit next to a woman I hadnt met before. I briefly questioned why I should sit there when the room was full of people I knew. But the feeling was strong, and so I sat.
At the end of the service the woman and I exchanged pleasantries and she asked me what I did for a living. Despite the fact that in my current job I was an Operations Manager, I answered, Im a psychic. I was immediately stricken with alarm. Why had I answered this way? What would she think?! I had done a few readings for friends, but I had never defined my career that way!
I felt flustered by my answer. To my surprise she was quite open and receptive. She then told me that she was a writer for the Boston Globe and would love to have a reading so she could write about it in her column.
To make a long story short, I gave her a reading, she wrote the article, and in a very few months, more than 400 people called to schedule appointments. Suddenly, I was running my own business!
I attribute this amazing synchronicity and coincidence to having used the tools of visualization and affirmation. It led me to the exact path I needed to travel in order to create a full-time business virtually overnight.
Since then, Ive also used these same techniques to become a bestselling author of four books on intuition. For example, when I received the opportunity to write The Complete Idiots Guide to Psychic Awareness, the opportunity seemed to have appeared out of the blue! But I knew it had more to do with writing down my goals, affirming them with positive statements, visualizing clear results and trusting my intuition.
If any of this intrigues you, then you must own and read the book you hold in your hands. The authors, Shari Just and Carolyn Flynn, seem to me to have gotten it just right. This book is not just a fun-to-read guide to a better life. Its also a wonderfully wise and engaging primer on how to lead ones life with confidence and creativity.
Perhaps it was best summed up by writer Shakti Gawain who said, Creative visualization is magic in the truest and highest meaning of the word. Ive certainly experienced that magic. And with the help provided so skillfully and generously by the authors of this book, you will, too.
Dream big. Enjoy the journey.

Introduction
This book is about realizing your most heartfelt desires. We all want to live our lives to the fullest. We want to achieve that state of continual contentment, and at the same time, we want to attain fulfillment of our wildest and dearest dreams.
Creative visualization is a powerful technique that can help you manifest your best life. The techniques that we will explain in this book are tools you can use again and again. You may apply them in all areas of your life to achieve deep and lasting happiness.
Why would you need an entire book to learn these simple techniques? After all, isnt it just about visualizing what you want and thinking positively about it? We asked ourselves the same question. But its so much more than that, as we learned, and as we were writing together, our own dreams unfolded right before our eyes.
Practice, practice, practice will get you where you want to go, whether its Carnegie Hall or Mount Everest. In the practicing, you perfect the techniques. In living it, as you manifest the dreams you have always desired, you find contentment. Thus rewarded, you practice again.
The central tenets of creative visualization became popularized about 25 years ago in a slim volume written by Shakti Gawain. But since then, as many people like Shari and Carolyn have put the techniques into practice, we have discovered so much more. This book pulls all that together and carries it forward into the nowand the future. Read on and find out about how you can use creative visualization. Youll wonder how you lived without it.
