Everyone wants to look good as well as feel good. No one wants to appear all washed out and wrinkled. You want to take a look at your reflection in the mirror and be happy with what you see.

I have come to realize that no one wants to grow old; everyone wants to look and feel young. Remember the song Forever young ? Yeah, it is a pointer to that fact that no one wants to age but we all know that isnt possible.

Aging is a natural phenomenon; it is a process everyone must pass through but guess what? You can actually slow down your aging process!

Thats good news, isnt it? How, you may ask? Find out in this book!

The human body is a complex system consisting of the head, neck, thorax and abdomen, the arms and hands, legs and feet. It is made up of several systems that work together in unison. No part is independent of the other; they all need one another to ensure the body is in good condition. A few of the systems are:

Digestive system: This system hands the processing and transformation of food substances into smaller bits the body can use for its functions.

Circulatory system: This system is responsible for transporting processed foods, oxygen, water and other essentials to the parts of the body that need them. Also, it helps to convey wastes from these areas for onward ejection from the body.

Excretory system: The excretory system is responsible for removing wastes from the body.

One thing you should know is that the outward appearance is a function of the status of the inner body environment. By this I mean, how you look outwards is as a result of what is going on inwards. If the inside is weak, you will appear weak on the outside and vice versa.

Food is anything solid or liquid that provides nourishment to the body when ingested. What is nourishment? Nourishment is any substance that is essential for health, growth and general well-being of the something, which in this case is the human body.

What am I driving at? What you give your body goes a long way in doing it good or bad. You are what you eat; you must have heard of that a thousand times! You eat good nourishment, your body is the better for you; you consume harmful substance, you damage your body. The further damage you put your body through, the more you age.

Did you know for your body to be in good condition, you must ensure the food you take keep the internal environment in the right pH? pH is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution, a standard measure used to denote pH ranges from 1-14 with 7 being the neutral point. A pH is a neutral one, meaning it is neither acidic or alkali. A pH lower than 7 is acidic and above 7 is alkali. Water has a pH of 7 and is the only nutrient to have such pH value.

The foods we eat fall into two categories; acidic or alkaline. For the body to function well, we need to keep it in an alkaline state. If the body is in an acidic state, it opens doors for diseases to invade and harm it. Acidity destroys the body cells and thus causes the body to age faster, which will reflect outwards.

Your physical appearance is a reflection of what is going on on the inside. I need you to also know that when the body is too acidic, it could affect fertility because the reproductory organs need to be kept in an alkaline state to function properly.

For the body to function optimally, it needs to be maintained in an alkaline state. We all know acids do harm to anything they come in contact with, how much more the body.

I want to talk about foods that induce the body cells into acidity. What these foods do when ingested is to cause water to be removed from the body, a process known as diuresis . Diuresis is defined as having to urinate excessively. The more water is lost from the body, the more dehydrated it becomes. So the pH of a hydrated body is obviously acidic. When acids accumulate in the body, it gives rise to chronic degenerative diseases like cancer.

You may be wondering which foods can cause the body to become acidic when taken in. The acid inducing foods are white flour, sugar, carbonated drinks, coffee, all processed foods, sweeteners and alcohol.

Alkaline producing foods are fruit, leafy vegetables, herbs, seeds, spices and peas. In order to maintain good health, the meals you eat must contain 60% alkaline inducing foods and 40% acid inducing foods. If your body has been acidic for long, you need to restore it back to an alkaline state by consuming 80% of alkaline foods and 20% acidic foods.

When your body is properly maintained in an alkaline state, your aging is slowed and several years is removed from your look.

Stress is the state of being worried about something; it is a mental tension that could be caused by issues in a persons life, family, career or other related matters. Stress is the feeling of being uneasy and restless about something of interest.

Stress is the numero uno (number one) destroyer of the human body systems. A body in stress is a dysfunctional one; that is, a body that isnt operating normally. When you subject your body to stress, you hinder it from functioning properly because it has to make provision to handle the tension it wasnt prepared for and thus it begins to pay less attention to its other roles in order to handle the stress.

When the stress becomes too much for the body to handle, it could at times lead to total body knockout, which is the total collapse of the body system. When this occurs, it paves the way for diseases to penetrate the body and wreak havoc.

For anyone who is interested in looking younger than her age, she must endeavour to minimize stress to the barest minimum or avoid it at all cost if it is possible.

Life is a battle ground and so stress will be encountered but how you deal with it is the main thing. You cant totally prevent stress but you can avoid as well as control it.

How do you control stress?

Run away from anything that brings stress

Have a positive attitude to life and living

Think less of any unresolved or nagging issues at and

Take a break to clear your mind of any worries

Take out time to have personal fun-watching movies, exercising, shopping, dancing, chatting and any activity that will bring out the spirit in you.

Listening to inspirational audios, music, seminar and anything that will positive and encouraging that your mind will assimilate.

Talk to someone like a therapist(shrink), a friend, family or anyone to relieve you of the burden causing you stress-remember a problem shared is half solved.

If you believe in GOD, pray to him. There is nothing too small to tell him; he is always ready to hear from you and lift the burden off your shoulders.

Why do you need to smile often? I will tell you why. When you smile, the muscles of your face are in a relaxed state. In this state, they do not do any work except to relax and bring out the beauty of your face.

On the other hand when you frown a lot, you overwork these muscles. In my local parlance, another name for a frown is bone . You know a bone is a hard structure; therefore the hardness of a bone is likened to a frown because for a frown to be visible, you have to put in effort to squeeze your facial muscles and that is hard work!
