L ife as we know it can be an unpredictable phenomenon, as unexpected as the weather in March. Sometimes, we go through different phases for different reasons. Life will allow us to experience its ups and downs, its highs and lows, its unexpected turn of events which is as diversified as the clothes in a clothing store, as well as its stableness. Everything we encounter is for a specific reason. Our life expectancy enables us to stand tall against any adversity or pitfall that may come our way. Its just another way of preparing us to deal with its tough, cruel, harsh, brutal side mentally and emotionally. It can bring to the table some tough, imposing questions that are either answerable or unanswerable. It leaves a path for others to follow, instead of designing our own courses, and to face the many challenges that lie ahead. In short, our lives can be preemptive.

For instance, scientists and physicists can determine why an apple does fall far from an apple tree. Could it be that the weight of the apple allows it not to fall far from the tree? Or is it just one of the laws of averages? They have been pondering this difficult question for many years. They have unraveled the truth. Some of these truths are you cant change gravity, it falls in a vertical fashion, and its too heavy to land on a flat surface. There are still many other possibilities to explore that only time can eventually reveal. These are just a few examples to back this theory. Another example is why a squirrel can run across a live wire and not get burned. If you or I were to touch it, thats another story. Or why is it that certain marine animals can live on both land and in the water while man has to survive on land? What is the purpose of a weed plant that grows haywire around your house, backyard, or between sidewalk crevices, giving off an ugly appearance? Why do poisonous plants like poison ivy and poison oak have no beneficial effect to man? One small touch of these toxic plants and we will feel its repercussions for quite some time. Moreover, a deer can carry that dreaded Lyme tick on its skin, but it comes away harmless. But if that same tiny arachnid touches our skin, we shall feel its repercussions, possibly to the point of death. If pushed from a certain height off of an object, why does an ordinary house cat always land in the same position? Again, if you or I were pushed, thats a whole new ball game. Lastly, why havent chemists, scientists, and doctors found a cure for the common cold, flu, or headache in this sophisticated day and age of modern medicine? It can be treated, but its a recurring problem. These are just a few difficult questions to ponder.

At the other end of the spectrum, our longevity has sometimes rendered us with some answers to lifes most difficult questions. A prime example is how a snakes venom can be a lifesaver as well as a life taker. A known chemist discovered that venom could be converted to anti-venom, an excellent antidote for relieving pain. The lion is a savage carnivore and an extremely smart animal when selecting his meal for his cubs. He wants only the very best meat when he is out for the hunt. In addition to the killings, he will kill other big game cats, if they cross his path. He wont consume them for his meal because he knows he is in stiff competition for his food supply. Lastly, some of these predatory cats are highly intelligent to not let man tame them for their own good. They will remain in their natural state of environment. And we fellow humans have a tendency to act in the same fashion as some of these four-legged creatures do but to a lesser degree. Another way of paraphrasing it is our behavioral patterns are quite similar to these aggressive, savage beasts. For example, some animals will flee from their adversaries, if threatened or if their territorial rights are invaded. However, others will defend their cause to the bitter end. Dont we humans act out our irresponsible, irrational behaviors from time to time? I would be remiss if I didnt tell you that most of us could be more tactful, diplomatic, and could use some protocol when proving a valid point to others to further justify their cause. Again, let us take the case of the lion. Little does anyone know that if provoked by his own kind, he will also destroy them just to protect him, his cubs, and mates for their survival? In the same light, how many times have we become annoyed, disgusted, and impatient with each others ways just to win one over to our way of thinking?

The correlation Im trying to make between man and animal can prove quite fruitful and intriguing in establishing a healthy, harmonious, and happy relationship among us. To an extent, man does have a tendency to behave in the exact same fashion as other living creatures do. The Bible strongly admonishes to us that mans emotions vacillate like a swinging pendulum. He may welcome you with open arms one day. The next time around, he may not let you stand within a five-mile radius of his presence. Again, some questions to ponder are, What causes man to act the way he does? and Is his environment a central factor in the making of his persona? and Why does he react in an irrational way to prove a valid point?

As stated in the preceding paragraph, the main point Im trying to convey is we will all have a clear picture as to why our terms of existence operates the way it does. In this fast-paced, changing and growing society we reside in, nearly everyones goals, motives, and objectives are basically the same and different. We all travel different paths. By the same token, we all travel the same road to reach our ultimate destinations in life. We experience the joys and ecstasies, the highs and lows, and the rewards and repercussions that life offers. We are living witnesses to the demands and perils of life in which we experience. My point is we have all concocted different formulas and notions as a motivational tool for defining what our success is. Its a formula that youve written to experience the changing times of life. It has plenty of value and merit associated with it. Its written in the chronicles of life. Its etched in stone. Its called a winning formula. Another sophisticated way of calling it is a successful formula. Thats why Ive decided to title this book A Successful Formula . This is a new edition on making progress in your journeys and in establishing a salubrious affinity with one another.

Some of the chapters include dealing with problems, how forgiving is a moot point, how enormous ideas have evolved from basic minds, overcoming verbal abuse, and not using violence as a mechanism to prove your point. Moreover, we take an in-depth look on dealing with rejection, mistreatment, and whether your situation is favorable or unfavorable. Finally, I conclude with chapters focusing on an attitude adjustment and investing in the power of that all-mighty tool, prayer. There are many more chapters to cover. Ive just mentioned a few, which might strike your interest.
