Calming the Chaos helps to de-mystify what conscious awareness is really all about. In so doing Jackie offers very practical insights into the power of choice, living in the present, projecting ones own positive energy and ultimately taking control of your life. You are ready for action once you read this book.

I really like how Jackie provides a practical approach to calming the chaos. Her use of examples taken from her own life experience helped illuminate the points she made in the book. I have some great takeaways to help me manage my energy.

Introduction
I meet with hundreds of people every year to talk about this notion of time, chaos and overwhelm. I repeatedly hear difficult, challenging and painful emotions that emerge in discussing this ephemeral resource. We have such an odd and unrealistic relationship with time, giving it otherworldly power and characteristics that we allow to deeply impact the quality of our lives. We relate to time both as a blessing and a curse, depending on what is happening around us. We lament its passing. We scoff at its scarcity. I have worked with prison inmates who wanted time to pass more quickly and who felt that all they had was time, and I have worked with those facing terminal illness who desperately wanted more of this precious, yet unseen raw material.
As human beings we have the ability to reflect on and alter our perceptions. It requires a certain level of self-awareness and maturity, but we have the capacity to wake up and live more consciously. Yet, as you may have noticed, we have a strong inclination to stay asleep, lulled into unconsciousness by habits and proclivities and the non-stop stimulation in the world around us. Each day, each moment in fact, we have the option of moving forward with greater clarity and power, or to remain in the same state of chaos and despair.
