T his powerful message was given to Abraham for his seed. We, the Ekklesia, are Abrahams spiritual seed. This promise to possess the gates of the enemy pertains to us. The gates of hell will not prevail against the Ekklesiathe Lords sent ones and legislative Kingdom Body anointed to impact people and bring Kingdom influence and reformation to people, cultures, cities, regions, nations and spheres of influence.

There is a remnant that is rising up into the Kingdom inheritance we carry to possess the promised land of the harvest. We are citizens of the Kingdom of our heavenly Father. He has called us to be His ambassadors, ministers of reconciliation to see His Kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. The Hebrew word for possess is yaras . It means to be an heir, to take as an inheritance, dispossess, drive out, conquer, take possession ( Strongs Concordance key #H3423). While some might feel uneasy with such strong language, allow me to give an overview of a few in the Word of God who functioned in obedience, contended against demonic structures and possessed spheres and gates of influence. Joseph possessed administration and finance in a completely pagan culture. Abraham possessed nations of the earth. Deborah possessed city gates. Daniel possessed the government mountain of Israels enemy. Esther persevered and possessed life, freedom and victory for her people. David possessed a kingdom as a worshiper, warrior and king. Moses contended and delivered his people and possessed a nation. Joshua stayed in the tabernacle for forty years, was anointed to take action, contended against the enemies of Yahweh and possessed the promised land. Elijah contended against the prophets of Baal and possessed victory. Paul possessed cities, peoples, economies and regions. Peter possessed the lost, the Gentiles and cities.

This is quite a lineup of Kingdom-anointed glory carriers who functioned as reformers in their spheres of influence. Yes, they had their flaws. That was made clear in their life stories. However, their faithfulness and obedience to the Lord and His plans, their devotion in prayer and, in many of these instances, their ability to engage in spiritual warfare and press through resistance to rise as Kingdom influencers amid dark world influences were constant themes throughout the history of these Kingdom of God historymakers and reformers. It seems to me that each of these heroes of the faith had the mindset and understanding to pray, obey, contend, possess gates of influence and make great impact to extend the Kingdom of God. In my mind, this an awesome company to agree with and belong to!
