P SYCHIC ability, intuition, extrasensory perception, the sixth sensetheyre all terms for the same skill. Intuition is a sixth sense that we are all born with, like our ability to see, hear, taste, smell, and feel. Psychic ability is those instincts heightened with an inner magnifying glass.

Youve probably heard the official terms for these abilities: clairvoyance, clairaudience, and clairsentience. Clairvoyance is the ability to see images and pictures in your mind. Clairaudience means that you hear with an inner ear. And clairsentience is the term for people who pick up psychic impressions by feeling or knowing. Most people are psychic in this last way. They just feel something is right but dont know how or why.

Psychic ability has evolved since those words came into being. Now its a blending of all the inner senses working together to give you instantaneous impressions. You can still be gifted in seeing, hearing, or feeling, but its harder to tell where one ends and another begins. Basically, your sixth sense is a combination of your other five senses directed inward.

I did say five senses. Your other two senses come in psychic-speak as well. Believe it or not, you can have psychic taste and smell. You may have heard stories of people smelling flowers when none were in the room, or getting a whiff of their dead grandmothers perfumeit happens, just not as often as the other inner senses do.

There is one more inner ability to talk about, separate from the psychic abilities weve already discussed; that is telepathy. Telepathy is thought-communication, or sending and receiving thoughts and images with your mind. We all have built-in woofers and tweeters and were constantly bombarded with psychic noise and information. Its just that were not used to that kind of inner listening, so we block it out and pretend it doesnt exist.

In general, you are most telepathically connected to friends and family. The more time you spend with someone and the more emotionally connected you are with them, the stronger the psychic link. Because the universe has some kind of smart crazy glue that keeps everything in order. Psychic ability comes down to this: our ability to read that smart crazy glue with our mind; to rise above the everyday physical world to understand something unseen.

Now that we know where psychic energy comes from, how do psychics tap into the future to know things that havent happened yet? That brings up more physicsEinsteins theory of relativity, to be exact. He proved that space and time arent constant, that time moves more quickly or slowly in some cases than others, depending upon your perspective (where you sit in space).

According to him, time and space are very connected and very warped. So when we access that something unseen I mentioned before, that thing that bypasses our five senses, we connect to a time and a place where stuff hasnt happened yet. Whew. That is a big bite to swallow, but from where I sit as a psychic, it makes complete sense.

Now, how did we get from physics to psychics, and how can we develop these abilities anyway? Until we begin to develop our ability to tap into that subtle unseen force, we naturally have uncontrolled, spontaneous psychic experiences (everyone has had them, whether they are willing to admit it or not!). Think back over the past few months. Did you have a dream that ended up coming true? Did you have a feeling about someone that was correct? When the phone rings, do you know who is on the other end? Ah hah! So you know what Im talking about when I say that unexplained occurrences happen all the time.
