With some modifications to your nutritional habits and lifestyle, you can experience the first scientifically proven method of smoothing cellulite. Implementing the steps I outline in this book will provide your body with a complete, healthy environment and all of the tools it needs to repair uneven, lumpy skin on its own.
Have You Had Enough of Those Tried and Tired Cellulite Remedies?
Many popular theories say that cellulite is the result of excess fat in the body, and therefore dieting is the answer. Others say that cellulite is caused by an overabundance of water, and therefore dehydration of the affected areas is the answer. Well, the popular theories on cellulite and stretch marks are wrong. Have you ever gone on a successful exercise or dieting program only to find that you lost excess weight but the cellulite was still there? Have you ever attempted to parch the offending areas of your thighs or backside using topical caffeine or some other dehydrating agent only to find the area plumped up again as soon as you drank some water? You are not alone.
The conventional theories are partially correct. The problem does involve fat. It does involve water. But the solution is not as simple as removing the excess fat and water from your body. As you probably know, there are many thin women with cellulite, and there are many fully hydrated women without it. What is important is not the amount of fat or water in your body, but how we treat the fat and water that are there.
In practicing dermatology in Los Angeles for the past thirty years, I have treated thousands of women, from working moms to famous actresses. Regardless of their age or body type, their most frequent concerns are cellulite and stretch marks. I know very well how troubling these conditions can be for women. Unfortunately, there has been no available treatment with scientifically proven resultsuntil now.
The Water Principle Primer
Using the experience and knowledge gained through years working in the fields of science and medicine, I developed a revolutionary theory that has become known as the water principle . It is the basis for my breakthrough program. As we age, our bodies lose the ability to utilize water as they did when we were younger. Over time, our cells and the other areas of our bodies that need hydration break down and become unable to hold onto water, leaving them weakened and less effective. This water that your cells can no longer utilize now passes right through you or, even worse, stays in between the tissues of your body, swelling your ankles or puffing your eyelids. I call this wasted water, and to attain smooth skin, you need to put it back in your cells where it will keep you firm and supple.
When your cells are not fully hydrated, they cannot function at their optimal level. This leads to much of the tissue damage that we call aging. For example, dehydrated skin is more likely to weaken and succumb to all sorts of ravages that lead to cellulite and other problems. This dehydration and deterioration of cells can be due to a simple dietary deficiency of vital cell-hydrating nutrients.
By taking the necessary supplements every day and making a few changes to your diet, you can reverse the breakdown of your skin and prevent future damage. I have been using a combination of cell-repairing nutrients such as pomegranate extract and essential fatty acids for years, with amazing results. I had proved in numerous studies that applying the water principle to my patients treatments did wonders for their wrinkles. I wondered if it could be as effective in the treatment of cellulite and stretch marks, and I resolved to find out. I began by studying the anatomy of cellulite and questioning the common theories and treatments that have not worked.
My first question was, Why does cellulite have a bumpy texture while ordinary fat does not? Although the popular theories on cellulite state that it is ordinary fat and we need to treat it as such, it was clear to me that this was not the case. Ordinary fats function in the body is to create a soft, frictionless padding for the muscles, organs, and skeletal system. Because of this, it is smooth, shapeless, and able to glide effortlessly over the tissue it surrounds. This is not the case with cellulite and stretch marks. They are rigid and have a definite shape.
My second question was, Why is the fat that makes up cellulite visible while ordinary fat is not? The fat that makes up cellulite is clearly different from ordinary fat. I knew that traditional methods of treating cellulite as normal fat were not effective, and I soon discovered why. The standard cellulite treatments cant possibly work because they are treating the wrong problem. Throughout this book you will learn the answers to these questions and what you can finally do to treat cellulite in a way that actually works.
My next step was to gather a research team to test my theories in comparison to the traditional methods of cellulite treatment. We investigated how cellulite fat cells differ from normal fat cells and tested my theories on treating them as such. The results were smooth thighs and big smiles on my patients faces. In fact, in a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study performed by an independent laboratory, the test subjects experienced a 78 percent increase in skin firmness after eight weeks of taking the nutrients I discuss in this book!
Finally there is a program that offers you the first definitive road map to reducing dimpling and improving stretch marks that is actually backed by science. Cellulite is not a new problem. What is new is the solution. At long last, we are ready to tackle this last beauty taboo head-on. After years of exhaustive research, I can say without question that the method I have designed works.
