Praise for Intimate Issues Female sexuality isnt an embarrassing taboo - photo 1

Praise for
Intimate Issues

Female sexuality isnt an embarrassing taboo, but an enriching treasure! Let Dillow and Pintus help you overcome shame and inhibition, and celebrate Gods gift of great sex in marriage!

S HANNON E THRIDGE , MA, best-selling author of the Every Womans Battle series, Completely His, and The Sexually Confident Wife

Intimate Issues may well be destined to become a definitive and defining work in Christian literature. Specific, practical, and scriptural, it may have more potential than any new work I have read in recent years.

F RANK B. M INIRTH , MD, The Minirth Clinic, author of Happiness Is a Lifestyle and A Brilliant Mind

This is a mother-to-daughter book, a sister-to-sister gem to be shared. It is also a powerful resource for counselors and teachers, well-documented and deserving of serious attention.

H OWARD AND J EANNE H ENDRICKS , Center for Christian Leadership, Dallas Theological Seminary

Finally, a book that honestly addresses the real sexual concerns of women! The result will be marriages that reflect the joy and passion God intended.

M ARY A NN M AYO , MA, MFCC, author of The Menopause Manager

A much-needed, biblically based handbook teaching Gods perspective concerning the wise use of His gift of physical intimacy.

C YNTHIA H EALD , speaker and author of Becoming a Woman of Grace and Thin Within

More than an excellent and well-written book, it is an important book. Intimate Issues gives practical help for every wife who longs to be a better lover to her husband as well as a significant help for those who struggle with a painful past or a difficult present in their marriage. We highly recommend this book.

C AROLE AND J ACK M AYHALL , The Navigators, authors of Words That Hurt, Words That Heal, and Marriage Takes More Than Love

The best-no-holds barred book on the basic questions that Christian women ask about sex. This book will play a large part in healing lives that have been prisoners regarding Gods plan for healthy sexuality.

E MILIE B ARNES , best-selling author of More Hours in My Day

Dont be afraid of the word sensuous. Linda and Lorraine present the union of two people so attractively, excitedly, and sacredly that anything less protected and binding seems cheap, tawdry, and counterfeit.

V ONETTE Z ACHARY B RIGHT , Campus Crusade for Christ, author of The Sister Circle Series and The Woman Within

A preacher was invited to give a talk at a womens health symposium His wife - photo 6

A preacher was invited to give a talk at a womens health symposium. His wife inquired about his topic, and he was too embarrassed to admit he had been asked to speak about sex. Thinking quickly, he replied, Im talking about sailing.

The next day at the grocery store a young woman who had attended the lecture recognized the ministers wife. That was certainly an excellent talk your husband gave yesterday, she said. He really has a unique perspective on the subject. Somewhat chagrined, the ministers wife replied, Funny you should think so. I mean, hes only done it twice. The first time he threw up, and the second time, his hat blew off.

Many people are embarrassed to talk about sex while others blare SEX! from the rooftops. Making public what God intended to be private seems to have become a national pastime. Recently, we saw a television newsmagazine that featured a couple explicitly describing how Viagra had catapulted them into wild ecstasy. We flicked the off button in disgust. Then, a week later, we read a newspaper article about the captain of a South African Airways jumbo jet who had to leave the cockpit to scold two passengers who were openly engaging in sex in the planes business section.

Everywhere we turn, people are talking about sex. Yet, Christian wives have few places to turn for biblical, frank information from a womans viewpoint on this sensitive topic. We wrote Intimate Issues to provide this much needed perspective.

Before we go any further, let us tell you about ourselves. We are not sex therapists, psychologists, or sociologists. We are students of the Scripture, women who seek God and want to know Him and reveal Him in every aspect of our lives, including our sexual relationships with our husbands. We are both authors and speakers who teach on marriage and the sexual relationship, but also on spiritual-life issues.

In preparation for this book, we asked one thousand women, If you could have two questions answered about the sexual relationship between a husband and wife, what would they be? The most frequently asked questions became the chapter titles of this book. Wed like to thank the many women who not only asked the questions, but gave us permission to tell their stories so you might receive wisdom and encouragement. We appreciate their candor, and weve protected them by changing their names.

As part of our research, we read through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, noting every reference to sexuality. We are concerned that Christian women grow in their sexuality from Gods perspective. We wish we could sit down over a cup of coffee or tea and talk about your questions and pray with you over your concerns. Because this is not possible, we have asked God to meet with you as you read this book. And, weve asked Him to help you feel you are not only meeting with Him, but also with two friends who care for you.

We have spent hours in prayer over this book. We wanted to be specific enough to be helpful, but sensitive enough not to offend. God has declared that His gift of sex in marriage is to bring abandoned pleasure and intimate oneness. May this book reveal His heart and may you be motivated and encouraged to grow to become both a godly and sensuous wife.
