1. The American Nightmare

As we watched the SuperBowl in two thousand seventeen, the Americans who died from opiate overdose that year couldve filled Aloha Stadium. And according to Doctor Sanjay Gupta, the man who declined Obamas Surgeon General Appointment, eighty percent of the worlds pain pills are consumed in the United States but we only make up five percent of the world population. I could numb your mind with the size of this monster all day longevery news show and documentary does sobut today well unmask some of the villains behind this human tragedy. As for me , I can quantify the problem in a sentence: For ten years I was imprisoned by opiates, to which I also lost my big brother.

And if this story were to end here, it would simply be a short, sad show with a happy ending. But what most Americans dont know is that its much more than that: The so called Opiate Epidemic, is an epic tale of conspiracy, murder genocide rather and greed.

My next statement didnt mean much until Id had some time to ponder over it but, after which, it made me terribly angry: I was painlessly cured from the disease of opiate addiction, overnight , in a Tijuana basement. Why? The cure to opiate addiction, in America, is illegal!

. The Dilemma

In the little time I spent in Narcotics Anonymous, the first thing I learned there was: "Admitting that you have a problem is the first step to recovery. Well, in the unforgettable paraphrased words of a great American astronaut:

"Houston, we have a problem."

Hello, my name is Judah, and, no . Im no longer a drug addict. But this whole fiasco made for a pretty good story so, I am now the author of a prose piece which documents my transition back to my non-addicted, old self. And after flying home from Mexico in 2014, I had a life-altering decision to make: Though I felt like Id gotten away with the greatest jewel heist in the world, the truth about this so-called disease began to weigh heavy on my mind and heart.

There were only two choices: I could either, a.) go home and pretend like nothing happened, which seemed to make a lot more sense. Or I could, b.) tell my crazy story in a futile attempt at convincing the world that I had actually found an overnight cure to opiate addiction, just across the wall . But was it really that simple? Remember, just like you, I too had been listening to the alarming size and shape of this incurable disease, blaring on the evening news.

At the time of this film, Ive been opiate-free for nearly 5 years; I was a chemical prisoner for ten. The modality of treatment I used was a psychedelic root bark called Ibogaine , which grows at the base of a shrub from Gabon, Africaa right of passage for the Bwiti tribe. [cue sound effect: record scratching] You heard right the first time: Ibogaine is a psychedelic which temporarily, partially paralyzes the patient, and induces what can be up to 3 days of very realistic visions. It was the most beautiful miracle in the world.

I spent the balance of that single week getting massages, doing yoga, I had my teeth drilled with no anesthetic, and then just tooled around the city of TJ with the guys. I wasnt on a single chemical substance after a decade of reckless drug abuse! It was a hoot! No rehab. No scrubbing toilets with toothbrushes. No crying family. No cravings. No disease. I was just done. It was like a science-fiction movie but my friend it wasnt; it was all real. I used over fourteen-hundred Oxy-pills that last month alone, along with some heroin. I'm sure you will find this hard to believe but, I never tapered a milligram. In fact, while I do not suggest or condone such behavior, I went on quite the bon-voyage bender the week prior.

My daughters best friends older brother has been in rehab for nearly a year and hes still, not ready. Her girlfriend is getting dressed for school with her every morning this week because her parents are staring at him through a one-way mirror. Face-to-face contact is strictly prohibited. Her brother has a shaved head and has become a man through that chicken-wire-reenforced glass in Utah. This is the type of pressure that made me break my silence and turned my life upside-down.

Theres no sense of betrayal by your country, like coming-to in a Tijuana basement, completely healed of the so-called disease' of addiction, after a decade of savage opiate abuse. I was once again my familiar old-self after arriving home from Tijuana (only a week later), and I had questions. This film will quantify this so-called disease which has little to do with the patient, but has everything to do with the medical practices of this country. Namely, a broken information filter at the FDA and DEA, and the true disease which currently inflicts our Federal Government, doctors, and pharmaceutical companies: greed ! Unlike the forerunners to this documentary, we will identify the very mechanism which drives this problem, and, we will also unmask some of the villains whove been pulling the levers behind the curtains of this terrible manmade apocalypse.

Around the time I flew to Mexico for treatment, the airwaves in Arizona were aglow with commercials blasting both sides of the legalization-of-recreational-marijuana-debate. Prop two hundred five wasn't even set to go on the ballot until two thousand sixteen but, there already seemed to be quite a deal more commercial interest in this measure than most. It seemed as if every commercial break was jammed with images of familiar-looking candies which contained marijuana, as babies crawled around, accompanied by a serious-sounding narrator who sternly warned Phoenicians of the ill-effects of marijuana, which had, supposedly , plagued the citizens of Colorado after launching their legalization measures. Namely: the commercials warned of collected tax dollars which never reached their intended institutions. I remember watching these commercials and being overcome with dread that these horrible people in Colorado hadnt used the money for what it had been earmarked for the children . ( video link )

But, as with most mud-slinging during election cycles, a little research revealed that this too was an out-and-out lie: The Denver Post reported in June of two thousand eighteen that the schools in Colorado had received nearly a half-Billion dollars in Marijuana-generated revenue with which to update their ailing school system. ( article link ) Unfortunately, just like the blind trust placed in the FDA and DEA, I, along with most Americans today, just assumed that the greatest country in the world had our backs and wouldnt allow such a great lie to be broadcast throughout our land but I will let you be the judge of that
