Earth from Space: Epic Stories of the Natural World: summary, description and annotation

We offer to read an annotation, description, summary or preface (depends on what the author of the book "Earth from Space: Epic Stories of the Natural World" wrote himself). If you haven't found the necessary information about the book — write in the comments, we will try to find it.

With over 200 spectacular images, including astonishing satellite images and stills from the BBC Natural History Units footage, Earth from Space reveals our planet as youve never seen it before.
For decades we competed to be the first to reach space, but it was when we looked back at Earth that we were truly awestruck. Now, for the first time, using advanced satellite images we can show the earths surface, its mega structures, weather patterns and natural wonders in breathtaking detail.
From the colours and patterns that make up our planet to the mass migrations and seismic changes that shape it, Earth from Space sheds new light on the planet we call home. It reveals the intimate stories behind the breathtaking images, following herds of elephants crossing the plains of Africa and turtles travelling on ocean currents that are invisible unless seen from space. The true colours of our blue planet are revealed, from the striped tulip fields of Holland to the green swirl of a plankton super bloom that attracts a marine feeding frenzy. Whether its the worlds largest beaver dam so remote it was only discovered through satellite imagery or newly formed islands born from volcanic eruptions, discover a new perspective on our ever-changing planet.

Acknowledgments

It would have been impossible to make Life from Above without the extraordinary satellite images we have been given access to. We have worked closely with the team at Deimos and Urthecast, who have advised and supported the production team throughout the process. Your patience in teaching us (in laymans terms) the intricacies of acquiring imagery from satellites has been invaluable. We would also like to thank DigitalGlobe and Airbus as well as NASA, ESA, USGS, and NOAA, who have allowed us to feature a good deal of their beautiful imagery.

We are hugely grateful to the cinematographers, aerial photographers, time-lapse specialists, and stills photographers who have complemented the satellites with stunning imagery on the ground.

As ever, a natural history series cannot be made without the support and guidance of scientists and experts. We are ever grateful to you for sharing your knowledge and expertise.

Lastly, each and every one of the production team must be thanked for their tireless hard work and creativity, with a particular nod to Rory May who has wrestled these images into a book-friendly shape.
