We feel weak and hopeless if we have to take painkillers for it. We feel like a burden on our friends and family. And whats worsesometimes they look at us as a burden on them as well. All because we are dealing with pain in our lives that we dont feel like anyone else understands. All we can think about when the pain is there is just how much pain were in, and if its EVER going to stop. The goal of this book is not to make you feel guilty, or inadequate, or like youre doing something wrong. The goal is to give you hope, support, and OPTIONS for things that will actually help you get BETTER!Our bodies really can heal. You CAN get past this! Praise for Qat Wanders

Overcoming Chronic Pain Through Yoga takes a unique approach to education. On the one hand, it reads like you are learning from an authority on health and wellness and at the same time, it also feels like you are having a conversation with a close friend who is trying to help you get healthier while hanging out on your couch on a Sunday afternoon.

Qat gives you the details if you want them, but also simply tells you what you can do. I love her personal stories of struggle and victory that she eloquently explains throughout the book. This is a must-read for anyone looking to improve their health!

~Dr. Jason Piken DC, CNS, author of Better!: 11 Simple Habits to Improve Your Life

Highly Recommended Book In Overcoming Chronic Pain

This book is a treasure to keep. One should have this book as it offers excellent, practical and doable tips for overcoming chronic pain. This is not just about the yoga that everyone knows: spandex and headstands. It is much better than this. What makes this book a more interesting read is how the author shared her own chronic pain experiences, how she dealt with it, what she learned and discovered, what worked and did not work in eradicating her pain, and then generously and lovingly provided tips that can EFFECTIVELY help people. I love the tips on Mindfulness and Shifting Mindset just to name a few. These should be the foundation of all healing modalities. Be healed and get this book now!

~Elsa Mendoza, Best-Selling Author of YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THIS: Words to Empower You and Awaken Your Consciousness

If you are in constant anticipation of experiencing your chronic pain and live in fear of it, dont waste another second and buy this book. Because if you are willing to have dedication, motivation, faith, and a strong belief that you actually can get better, then this book will be your new must-read.

Qat Wanders book Overcoming Chronic Pain Through Yoga, gets my highest recommendation for anyone dealing with chronic pain.

I work as the lead Physical Therapist for one of the nations top Spine Centers in Sacramento, California where I am working with pain management doctors, surgeons, therapists, acupuncturists and other medical staff to help those that are dealing with chronic pain. And I am always looking for the best resources for my patients; this will now be at the top of my list.

The content is easy to read and shows how all the different systems in your body can contribute to your pain, including concepts like hypermobility, fibromyalgia, sciatica and repetitive trauma. She also has specific actions that you can take to not only understand your bodys symptoms, but to start treating them, including her own Mindful Movement Techniques. As she talks about in the book, Qat does not only have the education and experience of working with people in chronic pain, but has experienced it herself and knows what it takes to get back to a life where you are not limited by pain.

I will be using this as a tool to help my patients dealing with pain of all types including long-lasting chronic pain, and would highly recommend it for anyone who is currently living their lives in the shadow of chronic pain.

Introduction

It is not normal to be sick. It is common to be sick. But our bodies can heal until we interfere.

Kimberly Maska

Millions of people today are suffering silently (or not so silently) from chronic pain. This pain can come in so many forms and on so many different levels of severity. For some, it's an invisible illness. These people don't even look sick, but they are suffering on a daily basis. For others, their pain is obvious, and they are dealing with not only physical pain but the emotional affiliations of having people feel sorry for them, stare at them, and talk to them with pity in their eyes.

Chronic pain affects lives negatively on many levels. The repercussions are more than just physical. It leads to tremendous mental and spiritual problems as well. When we suffer, especially if we feel we are suffering pointlessly and endlessly, it creates a vicious loop of emotions that make us feel hopeless, angry, and miserable.

But what if someone were to tell you there is a way to overcome this suffering on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level? A method that doesn't involve spending hundreds or thousands of dollars every month on expensive medications or supplements for the rest of your life?

In this book, I'm going to show you the exact method I used to overcome the chronic pain that took over my life for almost 30 years. These techniques have helped not only me overcome chronic pain, but hundreds of my students as well.

As a licensed Yoga Therapist, Ayurvedic Specialist, and Integrative Medicine Practitioner, I have dedicated the last 10 years of my life to helping others overcome chronic pain because I know what type of suffering they are going through. I know how much this can affect everyday life. And it has been a slow process, but I developed the Mindful Movement Techniques which help trigger the body's pain responses in a way that can help overcome chronic pain quickly and effectively. On top of these physical movements, there are multiple lifestyle adjustments as well which have proven effective for literally everyone I have worked with.
