About the Authors

professionally develops iPad, iPhone and Android applications. She understands the heart and soul of the mobile application development and likes to create challenging apps that are data-heavy and dynamic in nature.

Shubhangi studied Computer Science and Engineering in her bachelors studies at PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh, India and graduated from there in 2010 as the opper of all branches. She is a student of MSc in Computing at Imperial College London, for which she has been awarded the prestigious Jubilee Scholarship of the British Council and the Government of the United Kingdom.

Shubhangi likes to take up mind games in her free time. She likes to anchor cultural events and is passionate about dancing. A non-trained dancer, she has given numerous solo stage performances in dance and mimicry too. She is very close to her parents and loves to spend time with them. Awarded the title of "All-Rounder Girl" during her studies, Shubhangi likes to explore her capabilities in diverse areas, and authoring this book is another such exploration. This is her first book, written with the motive of helping school teachers who choose use the iPad.

On fast-pace successful completion of my first book, I pay my sincere thanks and gratitude to my parents, Dr. H.K. Verma and Mrs. Usha Verma, who brought me up and educated me in a way that today I find myself capable enough to author a book that can make imparting of knowledge both interesting and convenient. Thank you mom and dad for co-operating with me in all possible ways and for not disturbing my sleep till noon everyday when I worked in the night to write this book and manage my other work alongside.

He was a Google Summer of Code student for Drupal in 2008, and has been managing the whole program ever since.

About the Reviewer

Silvina P. Hillar is an Italian who has been teaching English since 1993. She has always had a great interest in teaching, writing, and composing techniques, and has made a lot of research on this subject. She has been investigating and using mind mapping for more than 10 years in order to embed it into teaching.

She is an English Teacher, a Certified Legal Translator (English/Spanish), and has a Post Degree in Education (graduated with Honors).

She has been working in several schools and institutes with native English speaking students and as an independent consultant for many international companies as an interpreter, translator and VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) course designer.

She has always had a passion for technological devices concerning education. Former videos and cassettes were a must in her teaching lessons, and computers were and still are present. Her brother Gastn C. Hillar designed some programs and games for her teaching. Lately, she is teaching using Moodle and Web 2.0. Previously for Packt, Silvina has written Moodle 1.9 English Teacher's Cookbook, Moodle 2.0 Multimedia Cookbook , and Mindmapping with FreeMind .She believes that one of the most amazing challenges in education is bridging the gap between classic education and modern technologies.

She has been doing a lot of research on multimedia assets which enhance the teaching and learning through VLE platforms.
