We shouldnt have to feel guilty when we are forced to intake a quick meal on a short lunch break. Intermittent fasting offers a way to organize our habits, allowing us more freedom to focus on whats best for us. This freedom comes with self-discipline and dedication to our desired goals. But how can IF help us in such a crazy society?

The introduction of preservatives and a globalized economy has allowed big companies to be able to package and process almost any type of food. This, in turn, makes available junk food everywhere you look. Its impossible to escape some sort of marketing for food that does more harm than good. This makes it terribly hard for organic companies and local farmers to make a living. This wicked cycle is a reality we must face if we are to change our habits and lifestyle. We need to abandon the idea of relying on huge corporations to supply us with convenient foods every single day. These habits must be broken. We must take control of our diets. We need to listen to our bodies and what they need and open our minds to healthier alternatives to the fast food lifestyle.

Obesity and excessive weight gain is a huge problem for the western world. This is a direct result of the processed and sugary foods being distributed across the globe. While we cant change the entire food industry overnight, we can take control of our personal diets. This is where intermittent fasting comes into play. The practice of fasting is easy to implement into anyones life, and with the growing popularity of fasting practices in popular culture, the more scientific focus has been dedicated to the practice, although fasting is not a new fad born of technological advancements.
