Chapter three contains information on training programs and a directory of close to 400 colleges and technical schools that offer various EMT courses. Course descriptions are included to help you decide what training program is right for you and how long you need to go to school for each one. The directory will give you a representative listing of schools across the country in order by city and state. All programs provide name, address, and phone number, so you can contact each school directly to get more information and application forms.

Once you've completed your training program and landed your first job, chapter five will reveal how to succeed on that job. You'll find out what qualities are rewarded by coworkers and supervisors, how to advance and move up in rank or title, and what specific advancement opportunities are available within the EMS field.
