Introduction
You can make breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, snacks and drinks with just three ingredients. Dont worry, they are just as delicious as dishes that are loaded with ingredients and take hours to make. These dishes are simple yet tasty. Most of these dishes are made with only three ingredients while some are made with 3 main ingredients and a few other spices most of which are optional (for more flavour).
Enjoy delicious mozzarella sticks as a nice side to dinner, crunchy hash browns for breakfast or a nice cocktail at the end of the day. This book is filled with recipes that you can make any time of day, whatever the season. There are treats and meals for you and your entire family that come together with only 3 ingredients. Dont be swayed by ingredients in Italics, these are simply recommended to enhance dishes they are still delicious without them.
Cheesy Hash Browns
Potatoes are perfect in any form and hash browns are a testament to that statement. These hash browns are crispy on the outside and soft and cheesy on the inside. They go great with some ketchup and are the perfect individual side to eggs and bacon at breakfast time.
Serving size:
Cooking time: 20 30 minutes
Ingredients:
- 4 medium sized russet potatoes, washed, shredded and squeeze dried in a towel
- cup of cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
2. Combine shredded potatoes, cheddar cheese and olive oil in a bowl.
3. Lightly grease baking pan.
4. Mould potato mixture into small patties and transfer to baking pan. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
5. Bake for 20 30 minutes, flipping them halfway. Until golden brown.
French Toast
French toast is a breakfast classic whether by itself or with some fruits or bacon and eggs. There are different variations to French toast such as the popular cinnamon French toast and even ice cream French toast. This recipe is the standard version of French toast and it is delicious with maple syrup and some powdered sugar.
Serving size:
Cooking time: 5 - 7 minutes
Ingredients:
- 6 thick slices of your favourite type of bread
- 2 eggs
- 2/3 cup of milk
- Salt to taste
Method:
1. In a medium shallow bowl, beat eggs, milk and salt with a fork. (If using additional ingredients such as cinnamon and vanilla this is where you will add them.)
2. Coat the bottom of a skillet with cooking oil or butter. Allow to heat over medium-low heat.
3. Dip bread slices into egg mixture one at a time and let them soak it up. Slowly turn to coat both sides.
4. Lightly lift bread from bowl and transfer to hot skillet. Cook until both sides are golden brown.
Banana Pancakes
These banana pancakes are perfect when you have really ripe bananas or just a few extra bananas you want to use up before they go bad. They are fluffy, soft and delicious. Add vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg to make them even more delicious. You can top them with fresh fruit, maple syrup, coconut flakes, chocolate chips or nuts.
Serving size: 1 2
Cooking time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 medium egg
- 2 tablespoons of self-rising flour
- Salt to taste
Method:
1. Mash banana in a medium bowl. Mix in egg, salt and flour until smooth.
2. Cover bottom of a skillet with cooking oil and heat over medium-low heat.
3. Spoon batter into pan for desired size.
4. Cook on each side for 1 2 minutes, until golden and cooked through. Repeat until batter is finished.
Banana Oatmeal Cookies
These banana oatmeal cookies are perfect for breakfast or a snack. You can make them ahead of time and keep them in the freezer pop one out when you are ready and warm them up for 20 seconds in the microwave. This is the basic recipe and you can add whatever filling you like. I personally love peanut butter and mini chocolate chips.
Serving size: 12 15 cookies
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup of rolled oats
- - 1 cup of your chosen third ingredient: Chocolate chips, sliced almonds, chopped peanuts, peanut butter, walnuts, raisins, coconut flakes etc.
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Grease a cookie sheet and set aside.
3. Mash bananas with a fork. Mix in oats until smooth.
4. Add your chosen third ingredient and combine well.
5. Use a spoon to scoop a tablespoon of dough into your hands and form into cookie shape. Continue until you have 12 15 cookies.
6. Bake for 12 15 minutes until cookies are done.
Pepperoni Pizza Sticks
These pizza sticks are delicious and a great snack. You may find yourself finishing this entire batch without even noticing. They are portable and great to pack for lunch for both adults and children. Theyre also great for group gatherings. Change up the meat filling if you like add some left over grilled chicken or beef and/or vegetables and enjoy! Serve with marinara dipping sauce.
