Why Choose the Instant Pot?
If youre still in two minds about the advantages of owning a multicooker, here are some further reasons why an Instant Pot is one of the top kitchen appliances out there.
Easy and Effortless
Theres no need to check on the food, as its continuously cooked. You dont have to constantly stir or keep an eye on the temperature to make sure nothing burns. The only effort you have to go through is prepping the vegetables and meat and putting it all in the pot! In a few minutes, youll have a warm meal to share with your family.
Safe and Secure
You can relax knowing that theres no possibility that your Instant Pot will blow up. This modern-day cooker has built-in safety features and sensors that the old-school pressure cookers dont have.
Straightforward to Clean
One would think that an appliance with the ability to cook a whole meal will require some aftercare hassles and complicated cleaning instructions. Not at all! Theres only one inner pot and a few smaller elements to wash, and theyre all dishwasher safe. Gone are the days of having to wash three pots, casseroles, and utensils galore.
No Nutrients Go to Waste
Its an unfortunate fact that the longer you cook food, the more nutrients go to waste. But, seeing that the cooking time is so much shorter when you use a multicooker, your food will still be loaded with vitamins and minerals.
Gets Rid of Germs
Your kitchen may be spotless, but theres no way of knowing if the food youre bringing from outside is bacteria-free. Luckily, since the Instant Pot not only cooks food at a low temperature but also under pressure, bacteria and germs will die during the process.
No Shortage of Recipes
Not only will you find recipes in this book, but you can also do a quick internet search and be flooded with Instant Pot recipe blogs. Youll find anything from making a delicious beef stew, to how to make yogurt, and even wine!
Its exciting, right? Now that you know what makes the Instant Pot special, it is time to look at factors you should keep in mind when selecting your multicooker.

Before you do, wash all the elements with warm water and dry with a cloth. Wipedo not submergethe Instant Pot with a warm wet cloth and then dry. When all elements are completely dry, you can insert the inner pot. Next, put in the sealing ring and make sure it is fixed securely. Make sure all other components of the lid are in place by referring to the manual.
Once done, youre ready to test your pot!
Water Test
Although it is not absolutely necessary to do this step, I recommend you do it, nonetheless. It will give you peace of mind that the Instant Pot is in complete working order.
After assembling your multicooker and reading through the manual and quick reference guide to see what all the buttons do and icons mean, it is time to go through a water test.
Plug the cooker into the wall socket and switch it on.
Place the inner pot inside the cooker and add three cups of water.
Make sure the sealing ring is inserted securely.
Seal the Instant Pot with the lid. You will hear the pot beep three times to indicate that the lid is sealed.
Select Sealing on the steam release handle.
Press the Pressure Cook/Steam button and set the timer to two minutes. Then press Start.
If a lot of steam is escaping out of the sides, switch the machine off, and check the silicone ring is in place correctly. Try again.
Once the pot comes to pressure, a countdown will begin. The water should be boiling after two minutes. If that is the case, your water test was successful, and your Instant Pot doesnt have any defects.
