Chapter 1. Scottish Breakfast Recipe Collection
Scottish Tattie Scones
A tasty scone recipe that you can use gluten-free flour with baking soda!
Prep time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes
Servings: 8
Ingredients:
1 egg
2 tablespoons melted butter, plus extra for greasing
41/2 ounces flour, plus extra for rolling
1 lb. Baking potatoes, peeled, cooked and mashed
1 teaspoon baking powder
teaspoon sea salt
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 400 Fahrenheit.
Combine all of your ingredients together in a large mixing bowl until you have a sticky dough-like consistency.
Roll your dough out on a floured work surface to about 1/2-inch thickness.
Slice dough into rounds, preferably saucer-sized, then score across into your dough to create four equal wedges.
Coat a large baking sheet with butter, then bake your scones for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve scones with a pat of butter and enjoy!

Scottish Breakfast Milk Punch
Just before serving this drink, add a bit of ground cinnamon as garnish!

Shake all of your ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
Once done shaking, strain the mix into a glass, serve over fresh ice.
Garnish the drink with a dash of ground cinnamon on top, then serve and enjoy!

Scottish Kippers & Oatcakes
Add a drizzle of fresh lemon juice over this yummy kippers and oatcakes recipe!
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes
Servings: 8
Ingredients:
1 cup oatmeal
teaspoon baking powder
7 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons butter
teaspoon sea salt
Directions:
In a saucepan over moderate heat, warm the butter in water until melted.
Mix the oats with baking powder and sea salt. Create a well in the middle of your mixture.
Add the butter-water mix and mix ingredients with fingers until you get a dough-like consistency.
Lightly coat a large baking tray with butter and preheat your oven at 400 Fahrenheit.
Add your prepared dough to the middle of your baking tray. Press down with fingers to create a round shape about cm thick. Score triangles, just like Shortbread.
Bake in your preheated oven until the edges begin to turn golden brown; this should take about 20-minutes.
Serve immediately with toast or bread and enjoy!
