As a huge fan of simple cooking, I have created numerous recipes over the years that have one major theme in mind: Theyre so easy that anyone can make them. I love food that is simple and straightforward but also full of flavor. Oh, and I love my Instant Pot. Perhaps like many of you, I owned one for months before actually using it. It can be a bit intimidating to begin with. However, with the explanations, tips and tricks, and easy 5-ingredient recipes youll find in this cookbook, I guarantee that youll get the hang of using it. And with every meal you make, youll grow more comfortable.
I began to notice that I pulled out my Instant Pot only for dinner or big family meals, but with this book, I set out to change that. The Instant Pot is really an amazing appliance that can be used to make life easier in the kitchen every day. The recipes Ive shared here are designed to help you get the most out of your Instant Potand, because each recipe requires no more than 5 main ingerdients, I know that youll save time shopping, prepping, and cooking, too.
While working on the recipes for this cookbook, I fell in love with my Instant Pot all over again. I hope that the recipes in this book will help you take the first step toward using your Instant Pot, make the most of your Instant Pot, and, most of all, be more confident in creating delicious and easy meals with just a few ingredients.

BEFORE WE GET TO THE RECIPES, I want to go over some Instant Pot basics as well as kitchen and shopping tips that will make it easier for you to create easy meals for two people using a maximum of 5 main ingredients.
UPGRADING YOUR KITCHEN ROUTINE
Ready to make your life easier in the kitchen? Im right there with you! The Instant Pot is the perfect appliance to make an array of fresh, delicious meals for two that dont require a lot of prep or finishing. The Instant Pot is also the ultimate hands-off tool: The ingredients cook all together without requiring anyone to stand by the stove. Many recipes allow you to prep, then set it and forget it until its piping hot and ready to serve! The Instant Pot also lends itself well to one-pot meals and other recipes that require less cleanup than traditional stovetop and oven-based cooking. I dont know about you but cleaning up after cooking is my nemesis. So, I love that once dinner is served, I only have to clean the inner pot and any prep surfaces and tools I may have used.
Because the Instant Pot is a wonderfully precise tool, its also easier to cook smaller portions of food. Whether youre using a 3-quart (Mini), 6-quart, or 8-quart model, you can typically use the same methods, same ingredients, and same quantities to yield the same delicious results. Additionally, longer cooking processes like braising and roasting can be done in a fraction of the time. Dont worry if you forgot to take the chicken out of the freezer, because you can cook frozen meats in the Instant Pot, too!
