INTRODUCTION
Growing up in the kitchen with Jerrie Mock, first woman to fly solo around the world and gourmet chef used to entertaining princes, ambassadors, and other foreign dignitaries, Ive seen a worldliterally!of cooking styles and flavor combinations. Grandma Jerrie passed away before a Trader Joes opened up in Tallahassee, where she retired, but let me tell you this: she would have killed for the opportunity to visit the fabulous store.
Now, carrying on her tradition of worldwide cuisine, I love the choices that Trader Joes offers for super-easy fixes for recipes I cant otherwise garner ingredients for. The premade spice blends like Furikake make ramen soups a snapand the 21 Seasoning Salute blend for seafood is an instant win.
For me, Trader Joes makes my love of entertaining with elegant (and easy!) dishes so much easier. The cultivated collections, the frozen veggies, the premium sauces at a budget-friendly price all make my ever-busy kitchen a happy place.
Now add in the wonder of the air fryera gift from my mother-in-law I couldnt have guessed would save my culinary butthas made all the Trader Joes ingredients I love so much even better.
Chapter 1 APPS HERE, PLEASE
SPICY TJS FALAFEL
Falafel is one of those foods that hits all the marksvegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and utterly delicious. Plus, its a fairly familiar food, so even those guests who may not be keen on the frees of the food will enjoy it without questioning why youre making it for them. And with this particular recipe, using TJs premade falafel, the spiciness of the Ajika spice blend really ups the game for these tasty Mediterranean hush puppies.

- olive oil cooking spray
- 1 tablespoon Trader Joes Ajika Georgian Seasoning Blend
- Trader Joes Tzatziki Creamy Garlic Cucumber Dip (optional)
YIELD: 4 SERVINGS
Set your air fryer to 375F and preheat for 5 minutes. Grab a plastic container with a lid and dump the bag of falafel into the container. Gently coat the falafel with olive oil spray and put the lid on. Shake thoroughly to coat everything with the sprayadding more, if needed. Then add the Ajika spice blend, cover again, and shake, coating the falafel with the spices.
Pour the falafel into the air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes. Remove the basket, shake the falafel around, repositioning themor, if theyre not turning easily on their own, use tongs to flip them. Then return the basket and cook for another 5 to 10 minutes, until theyre hot all the way through. Let stand for 5 minutes and serve plain or with tzatziki, if using.
