Air Fryer Baking Recipes

Introduction:

T he latest fad in kitchen appliances is the Air fryer. In this gadget, very hot air is circulated while the food is being cooked. It is a healthy way of cooking because it uses less oil. So you can cook the same tasty food using less oil. So deep-frying is done with less oil in an air fryer.

The notion is that baking is always done in an oven. Well, an air fryer is the latest technique in baking but in a smaller quantity. Some air fryers have a baking tray. All you need to do is, place the baking tray in the air fryer basket and bake. You can also use a baking dish that fits into the air fryer.

Cleaning is also easy as the tray is made of steel and coated with nonstick material. It can be cleaned with soapy water using a sponge.

Remember that the baking tray will be very hot, so always use oven gloves while handling the tray. Always read the manufacturer's instructions before use.

So how about exploring your air fryer to bake?

Chapter 1: Baked Air Fryer Savory Recipes
Baked Ham, Mushroom and Egg

I ngredients:

  • 2 croissants
  • 8 small button Mushrooms, quartered
  • 8 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 6 slices honey shaved ham
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • 1 sprig rosemary, chopped (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper powder to taste
  • Salad greens to serve
  • A little butter, melted - for greasing

Method:

  1. Grease a baking dish that is smaller than the air fryer with melted butter.
  2. Layer the ingredients in any manner you desire and finally topped with cheese. You can put a layer of cheese in between as well.
  3. Make 2 small well in the ham layer. Crack an egg into each of the wells.
  4. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle rosemary all over.
  5. Place the baking dish on the basket of the air fryer. Place the croissants as well.
  6. Bake in a preheated air fryer at 160 degree C for 8 minutes.
  7. After 4 minutes, remove the croissants. You can remove it earlier if you like it less toasted.
  8. You can adjust the timing according to the way you like your eggs to be cooked. Lesser time if you like the egg runny or slightly more time for half cooked or more time for well-cooked eggs.
  9. To serve: Place the croissant on a serving plate. Place the baked ham and eggs over it. Place salad greens and serve.
Pandan Chicken

I ngredients:

  • 2 chicken thighs, chopped into small pieces
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon fish sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper powder or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 8-10 Pandan leaves, rinsed, pat dried
  • A little vegetable oil

Method:

  1. Add chicken, soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, oil, sugar, pepper, ginger, and salt to a bowl. Toss well. Leave the chicken in the bowl to marinate for at least 2 hours.
  2. Wrap chicken pieces in the Pandan leaves.
  3. Brush with oil. Bake in a preheated air fryer at 180 degree C for 20 minutes or until the leaves gets charred lightly.
  4. Unwrap and serve.
Honey Pork Ribs

I ngredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds pork ribs
  • Hot cooked rice to serve

For sauce:

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water

F0r marinade:

  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon 5 spice powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper powder or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

Method:

  1. Add all ingredients of the marinade in a bowl and marinate the ribs for at least 4 hours.
  2. Place on the baking tray and place the tray in the air fryer. Bake in a preheated air fryer at 160 degree C for 8 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile make the sauce as follows: Place large skillet over medium heat. Add oil. When oil is heated, add garlic and saut until fragrant. Add rest of the ingredients of the sauce. Stir and bring to a boil. Taste and adjust the seasonings if necessary.
  4. Add the baked pork ribs and cook for a couple of minutes.
  5. Serve with hot cooked rice.
Crispy Pork Roast

I ngredients:

  • 2 pounds pork belly
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • A large pinch salt

For the rub:

  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon 5 spice powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt

Method:

  1. Blanch the pork in boiling water for 5 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and pat dry. Leave it in open air to dry thoroughly for a couple of hours.
  2. Prick the skin of pork all over with a sharp knife or skewer.
  3. Rub dry rub all over the meat. Rub salt and lemon over it.
  4. Bake in a preheated air fryer at 160 degree C for 30 minutes and serve.
  5. If you like it golden brown, bake for longer time.
Lamb Roast

I ngredients:

  • 1 pound lamb roast
  • 1 large potato, chopped into chunks
  • 1 small sweet potato, peeled, chopped into chunks
  • 1 cup frozen peas, thawed, cooked
  • 1 bunch Dutch carrots, trimmed, peeled
  • 1 tablespoon instant gravy mix, cook according to instructions on package
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons onion flakes
  • 2 teaspoons crushed garlic
  • 2 teaspoons dried rosemary
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper powder to taste

Method:

  1. Place carrots and potatoes on the baking tray. Sprinkle salt and pepper.
  2. Place the tray in a preheated air fryer and bake for 30 minutes. When done, remove from the air fryer and set aside to keep warm.
  3. Meanwhile, mix together, rosemary, oil, garlic and onion flakes in a small bowl and rub this mixture over the lamb.
  4. Place a small skillet over medium heat and add lamb. Cook until lamb is brown on all sides.
  5. Remove from pan and sprinkle salt and pepper.
  6. Spread a sheet over foil over the baking tray and place baking paper over it. Place the browned lamb over it along with sweet potato.
  7. Bake in the air fryer for 20-25 minutes. Remove lamb from air fryer and place on the cutting board. When cool enough to handle, slice the lamb.
  8. In case sweet potato is not cooked, bake for some more time until done.
  9. Serve lamb with baked potatoes, sweet potato, carrots, cooked peas and gravy.
Vegetarian Lasagna

I ngredients:

  • 1 pound pumpkin, peeled, finely chopped
  • 3/4 pound beets, cooked, thinly sliced
  • 1 pound tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 pound fresh lasagna sheets
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, torn
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower oil or olive oil
  • Goats cheese, grated

Method:

  1. Toss pumpkin with 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil and place on the baking tray.
  2. Place the baking tray in a preheated air fryer and bake at 175 degree C for 10 minutes. Remove from air fryer and let it cool.
