Multi-Strand Blending TM , Mini Hobo Scarf Totes TM , and Other New Techniques Crochet and Knit Patterns by Iris Cooke Forward Multi-Strand Blending TM is a crochet technique I invented that uses multiple strands of crochet thread combined with knitting yarn to make hats that are both functional, very warm, and unique, too. The strands are synchronized lengthwise, and guided by the two forefingers of the left (right for lefties) hand to keep them together as the project is crocheted. Strands are also dropped and new ones picked-up throughout the project for a unique way of crochet thats more akin to the way things are knit. These are also theme patterns, modeled after the color patterns of insects and skies. Mini Hobo Scarf Totes TM are a knitted purse I invented, which have a scarf closure. The purses have textured knit stitching, like seed stitch, to give them an interesting look.

These purses are knitted in the round, and are very much like the striped jute purses that are imported from Africa that became popular in the 90s. Other knit patterns in these same veins are included, for more purses, sweaters, and mittens. An appendix is given for finishing of purses and sweaters, Appendix A. This is a new purse finishing pattern I invented to give the purses that round-bottom finish of the African jute purses. Unfortunately, some of the pictures were destroyed in a disaster in my home, but the pictures that are included should still allow the projects, for the hats and purses are similar, and the sweater has a matching purse that is pictured. In addition, you can count stitches and measure to verify your work.

Enjoy this book. You will learn a lot of new knit and crochet techniques here. Iris J. Cooke May 2017 Buffalo, NY Note : dec. means no inc. in st, like single crochet, not crochet two together.
