INTRODUCTION
~
I HAVE A CONFESSION TO make - I love the crap out of sweets.
If I had the choice, Id polish off entire half-gallon containers of vegan ice cream. But, lets be honest, thats definitely not good for my health, my mind or my body. So, I had to find something, anything, that would satisfy my sweet tooth and still protect my health and hipline. After doing a lot of searching, I stumbled on these amazing desserts called mug cakes. Essentially all I needed was a coffee mug, a few healthy ingredients and a willingness to experiment with some interesting ingredients. Well, I didnt see instant success, but after trying dozens of different variations, I found just the right concoctions that filled me up, provided me with excellent nutrition and satisfied my sweet tooth.
Look, if youre like me and you would love to have your cake and eat it too, then this is your solution. In this book, youll get 18 of my best concoctions! I did all the experimentation so that you dont have to worry about all the crappy combinations and not so great tasting cakes. Give these recipes a shot next time you have monster cravings for Ben & Jerrys or Fudge Pops. Mug cakes will satisfy your hunger, keep your cravings at bay and reward your body with valuable nutrition! ENJOY!
TIPS AND THINGS TO KNOW
~
HERE ARE SOME TIPS AND things that I think you should know before starting these recipes. -All of the ingredients are measured dry, unless stated. -Use your local bulk foods section as much as possible.
These mug cakes can be quite cheap to make. -I have 2 favorite protein powders. If I need a little flavor, I like the RawFusion line. If I am okay with an unflavored powder, I will pick it up in the bulk section at the grocery store. I choose to use vegan protein powders, but please choose your most favorite protein powder, whether vegan or not. -When you are adding the water, go SLOWLY! If you like the mug cake a little more moist or gooey, add just a little more water.
I left the measurement of the water off the recipes for personal preference and ease of use. -If you add too much water and arent counting macros or calories, add 1 tbsp of a powder. This can be something like protein powder or wheat bran. -When you are completely done, feel free to eat straight from the mug or place on a plate to enjoy. Garnish if you see fit.
