Authentic Japanese Teriyaki Recipes

(1) Beef Teriyaki
This is a gluten free recipe you can make whenever you need something healthier to enjoy. It is perfect for those who are on special diets.
Serving Size: 4 servings
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients for the beef:
- 2 pounds of flank steak
- cup of cornstarch
- 4 to 6 Tablespoons of coconut oil
Ingredients for the sauce:
- cup of tamari
- cup of light brown sugar
- cup of water
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- teaspoons of crushed red pepper flakes
- 3 green onions, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of ginger, grated

Methods:
- Slice the flank steak into thin strips. Transfer into a Ziploc bag. Add in the cornstarch. Toss well to coat.
- Prepare the sauce. In a bowl, add in the tamari, light brown sugar, water, cornstarch and pepper flakes. Whisk well to mix.
- In a skillet set over medium to high heat, add in 3 tablespoons of coconut oil. Add in the beef. Cook for 5 minutes on both sides or until cooked. Transfer onto a plate and set aside.
- Add 1 tablespoon of the coconut oil. Add in the sliced green onions, minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir well to mix. Allow to come to a simmer. Add in the cooked beef. Continue to cook for 5 minutes or until thick in consistency.
- Remove from heat.
- Serve the beef immediately with the cooked white rice.
(2) Teriyaki Shrimp
This is another delicious seafood dish you can make whenever you want to spoil you and your family with something special.
Serving Size: 4 servings
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
List of Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon of water
- cup of light brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons of honey
- cup of low sodium soy sauce
- cup of rice wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon of garlic, minced
- 1 to 2 teaspoons of ginger, minced
- 1 pounds of shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 teaspoons of sesame oil
- 2 to 3 cups of snap peas
- Sesame seeds, for garnish

Methods:
- Prepare the sauce. In a bowl, add in the cornstarch and water. Whisk until smooth in consistency. Add in the light brown sugar, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic and minced ginger. Transfer into a saucepan set over low heat and stir well to mix. Cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat.
- In a bowl, add in the shrimp. Pour of the sauce over the top. Stir gently and set aside to marinate for 10 minutes.
- In a skillet set over medium to high heat, add in the sesame oil. Add in the snap peas. Cook for 4 minutes or until soft.
- Add in the shrimp and remaining sauce. Stir well to mix. Cook for 3 minutes or until cooked through. Remove from heat.
- Serve immediately with a garnish of sesame seeds.
(3) Slow Cooker Honey Teriyaki Chicken
This recipe is incredibly easy to prepare, you can simply throw it together in a slow cooker with ease. This is perhaps one of the best chicken dishes you can make.
Serving Size: 4 to 6 servings
Cooking Time: 4 hours and 10 minutes
List of Ingredients:
- 4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- cup of soy sauce
- cup of honey
- cup of rice wine vinegar
- cup of onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- teaspoons of black pepper
- teaspoons of powdered ginger
- cup of water
- 3 Tablespoons of cornstarch
- Green onions, thinly sliced and for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish

Methods:
- Add the chicken breasts into the bottom of the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, add in the soy sauce, honey, vinegar, chopped onion, minced garlic, powdered ginger and dash of black pepper. Whisk until mixed. Pour over the chicken. 3. Cover and cook on the highest setting for 3 to 4 hours. Remove the shred and shred finely.
- Pour the sauce into a saucepan set over medium heat. Allow to come to a simmer.
- In a bowl, add in the cornstarch and water. Whisk until smooth in consistency. Pour into the saucepan. Cook for 2 minutes or until the sauce is thick in consistency. Pour back into the slow cooker.
- Add the chicken back into the slow cooker. Toss to mix.
- Serve immediately with the sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
