Introduction

When Apple announced the original iPad back in 2010, the companys iconic CEO, the late Steve Jobs (19552011), referred to the tablet device as magical. That was the start of a technological revolution that has since captured the imaginations of iPad users around the world, and for Apple, it has resulted in tens of millions of iPad units sold each subsequent year.

In 2011, the original, first-generation iPad was replaced by the iPad 2. Almost exactly a year after that (March 2012), Apple launched the third-generation iPad (see ), referred to as the new iPad, and demand for the tablet continues to be unprecedented.

With each generation of iPad thats been released, more and more business people, entrepreneurs, consultants, freelancers, and other types of professionals have discovered firsthand that the iPad can often replace the need to carry around a larger and heavier laptop computer or netbook.
