Foreword

Once youve read this book you will have allthe information you need in order to make a well-informed decisionabout whether or not the Labradoodle is the breed for you, and youwill know how to care for them at every stage of their life.

As an owner, expert trainer and professionaldog whisperer, I would like to teach you the human side of theequation, so you can learn how to think more like your dog andeliminate behavioral problems with your pet.

Too many backyard breeders and puppy millsproduce Labradoodles and other Poodle crosses. These breedershave no understanding of genetics. In most cases, they dont evengive bloodlines a thought. My goal here is to help you understandthe positives and negatives of this emerging breed.

Adoptions through kennels working to promotethe breed help to refine the quality of all Labradoodles.

I am a huge fan of Labradoodles, but Im notgoing to suggest they are without their drawbacks. Also, there isNO guarantee that a Labradoodle is hypoallergenic. Many are not,and those are often the dogs surrendered to shelters.

Before you adopt a Labradoodle or anycrossbred dog, these are the issues you must investigate andunderstand. There are no certainties with hybrids like theLabradoodle, but there are great possibilities!

More and more responsible breeders areproducing excellent Labradoodles. This is not a fad breed, but atruly exceptional companion and one to which I look forward tointroducing you.
