Foreword

Once youve read this book, you will have allthe information you need to make a well-informed decision aboutwhether or not the Goldendoodle is the breed for you, and you willknow how to care for them at every stage of their life.

As an owner, expert trainer and professionaldog whisperer, I would like to teach you the human side of theequation, so you can learn how to think more like your dog andeliminate behavioral problems with your pet.

If youre someone like me, who encountersmany dogs in their daily life, you may suddenly be hearing the worddoodle a lot. This is shorthand for various hybrid or designerdogs that have a Poodle for a parent.

My first experience with a doodle was aLabradoodle, a breed originally cultivated as a low-allergy guidedog. The mix proved so successful in the eyes of almost everyonewho encountered the dogs that other Poodle mixes began beingdeveloped.

The second doodle to gain notoriety was theCockapoo, a cross between a Cocker Spaniel and Poodle. Then theGoldendoodle (or Goldypoo) entered the mix out of a desire for aslightly larger doodle cross.

Goldendoodles live up to the hybridexpectation. They tend to exhibit extremely balanced personalitiesand high intelligence. I think they are fantastic family dogs andcertainly a breed that gets on well with children.

I cant say enough good things about theGoldendoodle, and can heartily recommend him as a near-perfectcanine friend.
