IT SEEMS LIKE EVERYONE IS JUMPING into the pressure cooker craze How could you - photo 5

IT SEEMS LIKE EVERYONE IS JUMPING into the pressure cooker craze. How could you not be tempted to add one to your kitchen when you hear people rave about making a perfectly tender pot roast in a fraction of the time it would take in the slow cooker? While you might be impressed with tackling recipes like roasts in record time, that is just the beginning of how your kitchen will be revolutionized through pressure cooking.

My first experience with pressure cookers was a small stovetop model given to me by my grandmother. I was always impressed by how quickly and flawlessly recipes came out with this simple device, and loved using it for roast beef, rice, and bean dishes. Then, I jumped on the electric multicooker pressure cooker bandwagon. With extra functions, such as saut mode and programmed settings for dishes like oatmeal, rice, and even yogurt, it was a game changer. Much as with the traditional pressure cooker, every recipe I made in the multicooker turned out perfectly. Meats were tender, sauces were full of flavorand all in much less time than slow cooking or oven roasting.

But why do you need one? Besides making effortlessly tender meats, pressure cookers have a number of other benefits for busy people who love to cook or wish they were cooking more. They are convenient set-it-and-forget-it devices that cook flavorful meals incredibly quickly. Most of the meals are hands-off once you lock your lid to build the pressure, so pressure cooker dinner recipes are a great fit for even the busiest evening routines. They can also be used for breakfasts, soups, side dishes, and even desserts. With one device that can do so much for a busy person like me, my electric pressure cooker hardly leaves my countertop. Its truly a staple in my kitchen and has practically replaced my other one-off devices like my slow cooker and rice cooker.

Even with all of the aforementioned benefits, as with any new kitchen gadget, the idea of pressure cooking might seem intimidating to beginners. I am here to quell any fears. Even though I am a food and lifestyle blogger for a living, I am all about easy. As a busy working mom with an active, on-the-go family, I only have time for recipes that are quick, cost-effective, and tried-and-true delicious (there is no time for a dinner do-over on busy weeknights; we need things that are foolproof). Once you have a basic understanding of how these devices work, you will see, as I did years ago, how pressure cooking changes the game for both seasoned home cooks and beginners.

This book was written with exactly this in mind. Whether you recently scored a great deal on a multicooker or pressure cooker or are thinking of getting one to see what the hype is all about, Pressure Cooker Cookbook for Beginners has you covered. Ill walk you through the basics of the two most popular devices (the traditional stovetop pressure cooker and the electric multicooker) so youll have the confidence you need to start making delicious, easy meals with your own device. Then, along with practical tips, Ill share a variety of easy pressure cooker recipes for every meal and course that even beginners can create. They all use common ingredients, and many will be on your table in 30 minutes or less. Though the best part, in my opinion, is that they are all delicious!

Let this book be your trusty guide on your pressure cooking journey. Youll be serving up fabulous meals in no time and wont be sacrificing any extra time in your busy life to make it happen. Im excited for you to see the possibilities of what happens after you lock that lid. Happy (pressure) cooking!
