CONTENTS

The specialty of dermatology encompasses the medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the hair, skin and nails. Being the largest and most visible organ, physicians of every discipline will encounter patients with dermatologic conditions. In fact, most skin conditions are treated by non-dermatologists. Therefore, it is important for all providers of patient care to have some familiarity with dermatology.

This series of illustrated clinical cases looks to highlight many common and several uncommon dermatologic conditions that one may find in clinical practice. With over 3000 distinct clinical entities, skin conditions can be congenital, inflammatory, autoimmune, autoinflammatory, neoplastic, cosmetic, psychogenic, neuropathic, infectious, paraneoplastic, allergic or idiopathic in nature. Presented in short vignettes with associated images, questions and explanations, the reader will be able to rapidly review the pertinent key facts or pearls from each case. By no means is this book meant to be comprehensive, but rather a companion for ongoing and continuing medical education.
