Introduction
Parfait is a layered dessert that can contain various ingredients. Most commonly these are yogurt, pudding, muesli, nuts, fruit, and chocolate.
But these are only the basics, you can get creative and layer anything from cubed cake, crumbled Oreos, ice cream, candies, to cottage cheese, nut butters, and top it off with some delicious syrup or if you want to get fancy, some liqueur. Parfait is usually assembled in a way that every time you spoon into the dessert, youll have a bit of every layer on your spoon. Parfait can actually be made quite healthy and is a very suitable breakfast as well. Yes, this dessert is something to behold for its diversity and its simplicity. Parfaits
Apple Pie Chia Seed Jam Parfait
An amazingly sweet oatmeal-like dessert. The flavors are like your classic apple pie recipes but in a smaller package! Yields: Makes 2 Servings. Ingredients: To make the oats: cup Rolled oats 1 + cups Whole milk 2 tbsps. Chia seeds 1 tsp.
Vanilla extract tsp. Ground cinnamon Toasted walnuts, roughly chopped To make the chia apple jam: 3 Apples, peeled, cored, and diced cup Apple juice 2 tbsps. Chia seeds + 1 tsps. Ground cinnamon tsp. Vanilla extract Pinch of salt Method of Preparation : To make the chia apple jam:
- Using a medium pot over medium heat, toss in all the ingredients and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat to a low and simmer for at least 15-20 minutes stirring every 3 minutes.
- Once the apples are tender, remove from the heat immediately and mash of the mixture and set it aside.
To make the oats:
- Combine all the ingredients into a bowl and mix until well combined.
Refrigerate overnight. If the mixture is too thick, pour more milk. But if its too thin, add more chia seeds. Set it aside.
To complete the dish:
- Using a parfait glass, arrange the ingredients into thin layers following this order: Oats, Chia apple jam, walnuts.
- Repeat until youve reached the top of the glass. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours and serve immediately. Enjoy!
Avocado Lime Parfait
The spectacularly creamy and tangy dessert that combines the flavors of both the buttery taste of avocado and tanginess of lime.
A wonderful combination! Yields: Makes 2 Servings. Ingredients: To make the graham mixture: 6 Graham crackers, crushed 3 tbsps. Unsalted butter, melted tsp. Ground cinnamon To make the avocado mixture: 2 Ripe avocados, halved and pitted 1 can (14 oz.) Sweetened condensed milk 1 packaging (8 oz.) Cream cheese, softened Juice of 1 lime 1 tsp. Vanilla extract To make the yogurt mixture: 1 container (8 oz.) Greek yogurt 1 tbsp. Honey 1 tsp.
Vanilla extract Method of Preparation : To make the graham mixture:
- In a bowl, combine the crushed graham, butter, and cinnamon. Mix until well combined.
To make the avocado mixture:
- In another bowl, combine the avocados, milk, lime, vanilla, and cream cheese. Mix until smooth. Set it aside.
To make the yogurt mixture:
- Using another bowl, combine the yogurt, vanilla, and honey. Mix until well combined.
To complete the dish:
- Arrange the ingredients into a cup in this order: Graham mixture, Avocado mixture, and Yogurt mixture. Refrigerate for 2 hours or serve immediately.

Banana Pudding Breakfast Parfait
A simple dessert that can be done in less than 5 minutes! The banana gives this tropical-sweet flavor that just enhances the rest of the dish and its contents. Yields: Makes 1 Serving. Ingredients: 4 Vanilla wafers, crushed 1 cup Vanilla bean yogurt of your choice cup Granola cereal cup Banana, sliced Method of Preparation :
- Pour the ingredients in order into a 8 oz. cup: of the wafer crumbs, yogurt, banana, yogurt, rest if the wafer crumbs, banana, top with the rest of the yogurt.
- Refrigerate for 2 hours or serve immediately. Enjoy!
Banoffee Parfait
A simple parfait that contains this sweet caramel sauce that is balanced with the help of the bite that the granola delivers and the yogurt and sweetness of the banana. A great combo! Yields: Makes 3 Servings.
Ingredients: 1 Banana, peeled 1 cups Greek yogurt tsp. Vanilla extract 2/3 cup Granola 1 cup Caramel sauce of your choice Method of Preparation :
- Slice the bananas into circles and set them aside.
- Using a bowl, combine the yogurt and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Using a martini glass, arrange the ingredients into thin layers following this order: Granola, Yogurt, Banana, Caramel sauce. Repeat until youve reached the top of the glass and serve immediately. Enjoy!
Berry and Yogurt Parfait with Toasted Coconut
The creaminess of the yogurt and sweetness of the fruits gives this dessert something for you to remember. Along with the bite of the coconut just improves this dish on a whole new level! Yields: Makes 8 Servings.
Ingredients: cup Shredded unsweetened coconut 4 cups. Greek yogurt 2 cups. Graham crackers, crushed 2 cups. Strawberries, sliced 2 cups. Mixed blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries Method of Preparation :
- Preheat the oven to 350 F.
- Pour the coconut into a baking tray and place them in the oven to toast them.
- Bake them for 2 minutes, checking every 30 seconds. Once the coconut starts to brown remove it immediately from the oven and set it aside.
- Using a martini glass, arrange the ingredients in this order: Yogurt, Graham, Strawberries, Mixed berries.
Repeat until youve reached the top of the glass. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Take them out of the refrigerator and garnish with the toasted coconut. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
Blood Orange Sorbet Parfait
The tangy blood orange and sweet syrup accompany this amazing dessert. The vanilla ice cream is just improved thanks to the help of the syrup and sorbet.
Something for those hot days to enjoy with! Yields: Makes 6 Servings. Ingredients: 1 pint Vanilla ice cream To make the sorbet: cup White sugar cup Water 2 cups. Blood orange juice To make the syrup: 1 cup Blood orange juice 3 tbsps. White sugar 1 tsp. Cold water tsp. Cornstarch tsp.
Orange zest Method of Preparation : To make the sorbet:
- Using a small pot over medium heat, pour the water and sugar. Bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and pour the orange juice. Mix until well combined. Pour the mixture into a bowl and cover.
- Refrigerate until chilled and place into an ice cream maker. Spoon into any container and freeze until firm.
To make the syrup:
- Using another small pot over medium heat, pour the juice and sugar and bring it to a boil.
