[Erotic Hypnosis is not therapy, should not be confused with therapy and nothing in this book is intended to imply in any way that the material contained herein will make the reader anything other than a recreational hypnotist. Practice what you find herein and you will be one hell of a recreational hypnotist, but only that. You can, if you wish, just ahead to the 1st chapter if you like, but there is helpful information in the introduction.]

I had prepared a long and eloquent introduction for this work explaining all of the noble reasons for it, the advancement of adult relationships and the education of the inquisitive and the need to expand the public's awareness of these wonderful tools for increased intimacy: Erotic Hypnosis and Relyfe Programming. I was nearing the end of an explanation of how hypnosis really works and why we developed Relyfe when I had an epiphany: Most of the people who are going to read this book won't really care about the history of Relyfe or why hypnosis works for that matter and, in truth, I am not writing this book so that people will understand these things, I am writing it so that I can stop answering the same questions all of the time.

For the several months preceding the writing of this book I have been inundated with questions about Relyfe and its uses in the Dominance/Submission aspect of BDSM. I tried to find good references on related subjects that I would point people to. While we have had a lot of fun with Relyfe and BDSM, it was developed to, well to stop people from bleeding emotionally. It was not intended to set pretty girls up for spankings, however much fun that may be.

During my search for good references on erotic hypnosis I found exactly one that was halfway decent and 16 that were garbage. I found 1,617 websites dedicated to the subject around the world in 11 languages. I looked at the ones in English and Italian (with a little help from Babylon translation software) and found three that I believe to be decent. There is a truly terrifying amount of complete garbage out there about erotic hypnosis, and a lot of very smart people writing difficult to understand articles about impractical or just plain impossible applications of hypnosis.

There are two sorts of people who ask questions about Relyfe these days: Practitioners who are interested in the kinds of relief that can be found for their patients and clients; and, dominant men and women who want to control their submissives/slaves.

This book is written, obviously, for the second group.

Over the past several months there has been increasing public interest in the hypnotic techniques we developed to resolve deeply ingrained problems such as self-mutilation (cutters), anorexia nervosa, and a host of other core problems such as spousal abuse, which have historically been change resistant even in motivated subjects.

After a few articles and more than one blog have been written about our work, and with the consent of the others who worked on developing Relyfe Programming, I agreed to put together this first paper written for the public on the subject (as opposed to the countless emails we have all answered and the calls we have taken from practitioners and people seeking assistance).

In order to effect lasting changes at the most basic level of the psyche, we made an in-depth study of the material available to us about the development of the core personality and the functions that experience and environment play in that development. We finally determined that while traditional hypnosis, in the hands of a capable therapist, is a powerful tool to assist in healing, it often fails in the long term because the subject has spent a lifetime programming themselves for the behaviors and compulsions they want to change.
