It is my prayer that I have done this subject justice. Ancient wisdom traditions have been a lifelong interest of mine and deciding which masters and deities to include in this space has taken months of work and preparation. I have aimed to take a balanced approach. There are many incredible keepers of ancient wisdom out there and its my prayer that the 33 that I have chosen to include here will support your journey and enrich your life.

It is extremely important to me to respect traditions. I acknowledge that some of the deities included in this book are connected to traditions into which I am not initiated. It is for this reason alone that I have shared my own perspective and experiences, while trying to remain respectful of the ideas shared about these beings in all the traditions to which they are connected.

I know that there are many roads to experiencing love and the Source of creation. I pray that with this book I have opened doorways to experiences of love and connection, and that I have done so in a way that honors and respects the Divine Masters.

I am grateful for all that I have learnt along the way and for all of the personal experiences that have unfolded while I have been writing this book.

You cant get far in most spiritual classes, workshops, or trainings in the West today without at least one of the Ascended Masters being introduced, or being present in the form of a statue on an altar or an image on a wall. Also known as the Masters of Ancient Wisdom, and as Divine Masters here, they are a congregation of enlightened beings, spiritual guides, and souls who have dedicated their energy and intelligence to the healing and nurturing of the world.

It is believed that these beings are universal spiritual guides who are operating on a multi-dimensional level, meaning that they are not limited to linear time and space and that anyone can connect and work with them, just as they can with angels.

Ascended Masters have appeared in different spiritual traditions with different names, but similar roles, teachings, and even locations. For example, Buddhists have believed that Ascended Masters reside in Shambhala, a city hidden in the Himalayas, while many sadhus, the wandering men of India, have spoken of hidden temples, and Christian traditions have taught that there is a Communion of Saints, a gathering of human souls and angels in heaven.

I was first introduced to the term Ascended Masters in my teenage years. It was around the time I was beginning to learn crystal therapy and energy healing, and I remember my Reiki teacher, Avril, who had become a real mentor, speaking about how helpful it was to have a spiritual being or guide you could call on to help you on your journey. You didnt have to have had personal experience of that being, but could call on one you were drawn to, either because of their story or what they stood for.
