Author David De Angeliss search for a cure for nearsightedness was both professional and personal, since he suffered from the disease himself. An expert in muscular work dynamics, he discovered through extensive testing and an immersion in decades of scientific studies that working the extrinsic ocular muscles could preserve sight and re-educate the eyes toward better vision. He came to understand the importance of retinal defocus for transforming ocular refractive status. In this book, the author shares both the science and the secretprogressive retinal defocus techniqueof how he was able to reverse his own myopia. The systems efficacy, he says, comes from the fact that it directly intervenes with the causes that generate myopia onset and development (overaccommodative/near-point stress). When adequately stimulated by the simple exercises presented in the book, ocular refractive capability leads to gradual strengthening of focusing capability and gradual decreasing of refractive error. Written in straightforward language, and featuring an extensive section on the scientific research in this field, The Secret of Perfect Vision offers a proven program of healing to the millions of people afflicted with this condition.

v3.1

I dedicate The Secret of Perfect Vision to those people
whothrough their faith and perseverancewill succeed
in improving and ending their refractive errors; to the men and
the women whose personal example and testimony
can free future generations from wearing glasses, contact lenses,
and other ophthalmologic devices, which will
finally be seen as artificial and barbaric remedies.

In addition, I dedicate the book to the ophthalmologists
and optometrists who will consider it part
of their jobs to discuss preventive work
and the natural cure of refractive errors.

Foreword

Ive had the great pleasure to meet David De Angelis by accident after having read his book. An ophthalmologist myself, I already knew a lot about the issues his book deals with, but it was amazing to learn about the authors personal experience. His ex-myopes experience was incredibly interesting to me.

Despite the fact that David isnt a physician, during our meetings I could see how vast his knowledge about sight is, thanks to his having read and studied specific medical literature. His experience is a clear and perfect example of being able to reach unexpected targets, putting into practice the synthesis of his bibliographic research. He wasnt ready to surrender and accept only what the scientific-medical establishment states on the issue.

Worldwide, famous scholars have been doing research on refractive errors and especially on myopia for years. Unfortunately, a great deal of medical literature has always paid more attention to correcting visual defects rather than looking for their causes and intervening against them. Much work in ophthalmology development today has been dictated by economic interests, so that the greatest scholars have withdrawn from research on alternative methods that could control and even prevent the onset and development of myopia. The studies on visual treatments have been carried out since the early twentieth century, when ophthalmology became a real science. Unfortunately, after so many years, still only traditional correcting methods are offered for myopathy. Ophthalmologists have little interest in proposing alternative methods because its much easier to prescribe a pair of glasses and its more profitable to suggest refractive surgery treatment. On the other side, many opticians are interested only in selling ocular prostheses. In some cases the optometrists themselves, the professionals who cure functional disorders that hinder correct eye functioning, dont care about this delicate issue. Our unique hope is that very soon, all the efforts of those who are interested in healing sight may converge to give people a chance of pursuing different, more natural but efficacious ways to control or prevent myopia developmentthe ways that are neglected at present because of personal advantage, profit, or whatever else.

Im sure that (also thanks to David) visual therapy will continue to develop and will meet the needs of people who have realized how harmful modern society is for eye health. Together with David and all the others who are willing to take a part in this great challenge, I will work hard on spreading and acknowledging the principles and theories that are basic for clear, distinct vision.

Dr. Lee Anthony De Luca, ophthalmologist

Preface

I am neither an ophthalmologist nor an optometrist.

My friend, the book you are holding in your hands is the fruit of my passion for understanding the visual mechanisms of the eye. This understanding includes the dynamics of healing visual errors. It is the fruit of my personal experience and theoretical knowledge. I have had a great formal education, but some ideas and concepts must develop outside the ivory towers. In this sense, you learn by doingwhich is how I did it. A great deal of direct experimental data suggests the nature of the expected solution, but you must incorporate this knowledge in your work to clear your distance vision.

If you are looking for detailed and direct academic certifications to justify your work in using the methods explained in this text, I recommend viewing the following websites:

If you are ready to listen to the voice of someone who once suffered from the frustration of not seeing distant objects clearly, then please take the time to assess the contents of this book.

My Story

I knew I could do it, sooner or later.

I knew that nothing is impossible for the one who believes he can do it.

I knew that one day I would get my clear sight back and I would succeed in seeing with my own eyes. I had faith that I could do this without becoming a slave to minus-lens glasses. I knew that I would see all the fantastic details and colors (that a nearsighted person can only imagine) without the chains of minus-lens glasses.

Up to the age of fifteen I was normal (so-called emmetropic). I had perfect sight or the proverbial 6/6 or 20/20 vision. For some reason, I began to become myopic, and I was prescribed my first pair of minus-lens glasses. Like many nearsighted people, I got into an intellectual tunnel in the fog.
