of my story.
I weighed at about 220 pounds.
It was around 20 percent body fat suffered from inflammation and chronic digestive issues that I thought
I would live with for the rest of my life.
Thankful y I started taking matters into my own hands back in 2009 and there has not been any looking
back since then.
Now I weight around 187 pounds.
I stay around 10 to 11 percent body fat without trying and al my chronic digestive issues are a thing
of the past.
And thank goodness because it was real y horrible.
I created this course to share what I've learned over my own journey and it's my hope that this information
wil help you reach your fat loss goals and nutrition and wel -being goals as wel .
To this point in my life changing to a paleo eating plan was the single best choice I've made for my
health and wel -being.
And that's not me trying to exaggerate.
I honestly don't want to think about where I would be today if I had not made the decision to study
nutrition and make some dramatic changes in my life.
The good news is that I believe anyone with the desire to change their lives and improve their health
can do the same thing.
And you don't have to be a Ph.D. in nutrition to do so.

2.Potential Benefits Of Paleo Diet
So let's talk briefly about some of the potential benefits of fol owing a paleo diet and living a paleo lifestyle.
Besides fat loss which I wil tel you is different than weight loss.
And we'l talk more about this later.
There are many other wel documented benefits of a paleo diet lifestyle.
Now the list in front of you is not an exhaustive list but I would urge you to pay attention to this
because chances are you have other health issues you might be looking to address besides just losing
body fat.
I know personal y that healthy digestion was a big one for me and just a side note on digestion in the
paleo community.
There's a lot of focus on improving digestion.
And this is a good thing because absorption of nutrients is something that is critical not only for
senior body transformation goals through but also just for overal good health and performance.
And also 80 percent of your immune system is housed in your gut and taking care of this delicate ecosystem
wil help you suffer less from sick time during the year.
So besides those things, the digestion that decrease in body fat other things you can look forward to
or improved energy levels more consistent energy levels no crashes decreased inflammation and bloating.
So potential y seeing your clothes fitting better not feeling al groggy and slow after eating meals
and then the inflammation piece.
You know we're talking about systemic inflammation so just overal your body is less inflamed because
you're not eating foods ful of of the types of toxins that can actual y cause inflammation.
Improved mood and cognitive function is another good benefit just being able to focus and think clear
improves libido healthy digestion.
As we talked about healthy skin hair and teeth it's ok to want to look good.
That's total y fine.
Having a nice healthy complexion very strong healthy looking hair and a nice smile with healthy teeth.
Al are great things and can lead to a better quality lifestyle and then a stronger immune system getting
sick less often and not having to cal in sick to work is a big benefit.
SECTION 2: FOODS TO AVOID IF YOU WANT TO LOSE BODY FAT
1.What Foods To Avoid And Why
The paleo diet does suggest that you eliminate certain foods the fundamental reasons for eliminating
these foods are two fold.
First foods that are eliminated on a paleo diet are considered to be high and toxins and anti nutrients
that are either natural y occurring in the food or manmade.
And secondly the foods have been shown to increase blood sugar and by ingesting these foods in large
quantities and on a regular basis you'l be building an environment conducive to fat gain and not fat
loss.
I want to be perfectly clear that we're not striving for perfection and I'm not forbidding you from
ever eating these foods again.
My only goal is to give you the information so you can understand why these foods contribute to fat
gain and health problems.
So you can make more informed decisions.
Let's look at these foods at a very high level.
I wil do a deep dive into each one and I'l provide more resources for you to check out.
So you can be educated and make good choices.
Cereal grains such as wheat barley and rye as wel as corn should be avoided due to anti nutrients such
as gluten and the fact that foods containing grains are usual y very processed and refined and lead
to high blood sugar lagoons and lentils are a tough one.
The bean eaters come out of the woodwork when it comes to Paleo.
