When I was in my early 20s, I started suffering from insulin resistance. Since I was so young, this came as a shock to me. Despite this, I had to start taking medications to prevent my condition from getting worse. At such a young age, I already had a condition that I felt would ruin the rest of my life.

Instead of giving up, I decided to make healthier life choices. Since medications weren't helping me in the big way that I thought they would, I started researching holistic and alternative practices when I turned 30. By then, I was already suffering for years, both physically and psychologically. I knew that I had to do something to make things better so that I wouldnt experience depression. Through my research, I had come across intermittent fasting. At the time, it was one of the emerging trends in the diet world, and from the first time I had read about it, I was hooked.
