Special Thanks
Thanks go to Laura Norman, executive editor at Pearson, for her support and encouragement of this book. Robyn G. Thomas for her excellent editorial advice, Kim Scott for her delightful book design, and Adam Wilt, a gifted technical editor who I was honored to have critique my book. (Yes, I made all your changes.)
Almost all the images in this book were ones Ive taken on my walks about the world. However, I want to thank Emily Hewitt (EmilyHewittPhotography.com) for her photographs of jewelry designed by Coleman Hewitt. And Norman Hollyn who, 15 years ago, suggested we create a 32-part webisode series teaching students how to make films. From that 2ReelGuys.com was born.
I also want to thank my intrepid team of editorial beta readers, each a full-time Final Cut Pro editor, who provided extremely helpful feedback while reading early drafts of this book: Cindy Burgess, Tom Cherry, Scott Favorite, Scott Newell, Michael Powles, and Jerry Thompson. Im grateful for their comments and suggestions. Youll find them quoted throughout this book.
