INTRODUCTION

Adobe Photoshop is a photo editing program that permits you to form, edit, and change several images and graphics. Additionally, it further permits you to create and modify raster photos that contain several layers and import the images into different file formats.

Both macOS and Windows users are allowed to use this software for editing and creating new images altogether. Graphic designers and photographers are at the forefront when it comes to using this program.

The need to always edit photos is very high, especially on the parts of photographers paid for capturing and editing images. Imagine a time or moment without being able to edit photos that have multiple blemishes or scratches? Will it be a nice moment? Certainly not.

Since the world is changing and developing massively in technology, editing has now become much easier with the introduction of Adobe Photoshop. Instead of continuously retaking pictures with your camera, you can always open your Adobe program and edit the captured images to your taste.

CHAPTER ONE

About Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop is mostly used for editing, digital art, and making massive changes to images. It works by using layers to permit flexibility and trickiness while designing and editing.

Additionally, it also offers amazing editing tools that can perform virtually every editing process. Adobe Photoshop was formed by two brothers in 1988 (John and Thomas Knoll).

In the previous year, John sold the software to Adobe Systems, which tool it as Photoshop. After that time, the software has grown massively to become the go-to program for all editing works.

It works on both Windows and macOS; however, there is still no support for Linux.

How to open photos

With Adobe Photoshop, users can open images and make new photos of their choice.

Follow the steps below to open photos while using Adobe Photoshop:

1. Move to the menu bar and select File .

1. Also, select Open to launch existing photos .

Another method of opening photos is listed below:

1. Move over to the menu bar and select File .
2. Then choose New to make a new fresh photo altogether.
3. Choose a document preset .
4. Users can choose to tweak or change the preset by entering your personal choices such as height and width.

Touring the work zone

You can get used to the workspace in the Adobe interface screen. There are also tons of things to become familiar with, and we will list them all below:

• Options bar: This option is found below the menu bar. The options bar shows the different options for the particular tool you are presently using.

• Menu bar: This option displays the Image, Edit, File, and added menu options that offer you the chance to use dissimilar panels and commands (NB: You can find this option at the upper part of the Adobe interface) .

• Exit image: If you wish to close a particular photo you have viewed, simply select File and tap Close. Without wasting too much time, the image will close, and you can view other images if you want.

• Panels: In this option, you can find sections such as Properties, Layers, Color, and so much more that also includes different controls for having a great stand with photos. (NB: The entire panel list is contained beneath the window menu) .

• Tools panel: This section includes tools meant for making artwork and editing photos. Almost the same tools are placed in a matching group. In the tools panel, you can use similar tools by simply pressing and holding any tool of your choice. (NB: This panel is found on the left-hand side of your Adobe screen) .

• Document window: It shows the File you are presenting using to work. Different open document displays in different tabs in this window. (NB: Find the document window option in the center of the Adobe interface) .

How to zoom and pan

Zooming entails getting a better view of the image you are currently viewing. You can easily zoom images while on Adobe and edit them to your taste. Also, the zooming option helps in altering the view of a photo you are currently seeing.

Go through the below steps to learn how to zoom in out and pan everywhere

• Zoom In and Out: If you wish to zoom in and out, you need to launch the tools panel. Once you visit the left-hand side of your screen, tap to launch this option and look for the Zoom In and Out section. Select the option if you want to operate Zooming In or Out of an image.

• With the hand tool seen in the tools panel, you can easily pan everywhere and about on a largely zoomed photo. Do not worry about having to look for ways to pan an image. You need to find the hand tool in the tools panel, launch it, and begin to pan your photos.

CHAPTER TWO

How to save your work

After completing a design or edit to your image on Adobe Photoshop, it is important to save your completed design not to lose it. Saving your design allows you to open it later and even share it with family members and friends.

The disadvantages of not saving your design on Adobe will mean that you need to start afresh or begin a new work.

Here are a few things to get equipped with as regards saving your design on Adobe:

1. To save your design after completed work, simply select File , then choose to Save , select the option that reads "Save As," and proceed to give it a perfect name you can always remember (NB: Endeavor to save your newly created work with a name you can easily recall and not a name that will get you confused whenever you are searching for the work) .
