Id like to acknowledge the millions of people all over the world who have been abandoned, abused, beaten, hit, struck, oppressed, depressed, distressed, held back, lied to, cheated on, lost, betrayed, deceived, misled, double-crossed, walked out on, stabbed in the back, sold down the river, stolen from, deserted, discarded, shunned, cast out, dropped, dumped, forgotten, neglected, rejected, and/or dejected. You are the sole reason I have written this book.
You are also inspiration for my every breath. This is not a book for me; its a mission and a movement. My greatest wish is to see everyone in the world living as happy, healthy esteemed beingsfree from hate, free from fear, free from abuse and despair.
Both Gary and I would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped us produce this book, particularly Suzanne Staszak-Silva and Deni Remsberg at Rowman & Littlefield. Additionally, we are grateful to Nora Gray, Brooke Walker, Mary L. Holden, Dr. Jeffrey Fannin, Didi Wong, and Ilana Krebs, as well as Margot, Tiffany, Debbie, Delicia, Pat, Lisa, Heidi, Selena, Kate, and Peter, whose names have been changed out of respect for their privacy.
Whenever you are struggling with your confidence, I suggest you try reciting the following: the Optimists Creed, the Awakening Affirmation, the Evening Affirmation, and the Blessing for My Body. These are powerful tools to keep you motivated, confident, and on track.
It is perfectly fine to tailor these affirmations to fit your needs and adapt to specific situations, as long as they do not focus on mistakes or slip into negative thoughts.
The Optimists Creed
Promise yourself...
to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
to speak health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.
to make all of your friends and loved ones feel that there is something wonderful in them.
to look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimistic thoughts come true.
to think favorable thoughts of others.
to accomplish all of your goals.
to fulfill your mission, vision, and purpose
