About the author
Gordon Rock is the author for hundreds of cookbooks on delicious meals that the 'average Joe' can attempt at home. Including, but definitely not limited to, the Amazon Prime bestseller "Smoking Meat: The Essential Guide to Real Barbecue".
Rock is also known for other well-known titles such as "Making Fresh Pasta", "Hot Sauce", "The Paleo Chocolate Lovers" and "Vegan Tacos", just to name a few.
Rock has been nominated for various awards and has recently been offered a 'Question & Answers' column in Food and Wine Magazine that will give him a greater medium to respond to all the queries readers may have after attempting his recipes. He has also been honored by the Institution of Culinary Excellence for his outstanding recipes.
Gordon Rock grew up in the outskirts of Los Angeles in California, where he graduated from the Culinary Institute of America with honors. He still resides there along with his wife and three kids. He operates a non - profit organization for aspiring cooks who are unable to finance their culinary education and spends practically all his spare time either in the kitchen or around his desk writing.

This is due to the bad reputation that has been attached to this herb due to stigmatization. However, if you could allow yourself to move past then, and only then, will you be able to get the true benefits of this magical herb.
Lets face it, whether you want to call it marijuana, cannabis or even weed you is no denying that this with an outstanding number of medicinal purposes and of course is a great source of keeping calm. One the best ways you can achieve this is by prepping and using it to prepare meals. Thats right! You can cook just about anything with marijuana and despite popular belief it is not hard at all.
The recipes highlighted in this book are all easy, delicious and are guaranteed to make you feel amazing. Whether you are seeking an effective home remedy or you just want to unwind these recipes will provide you with the required quantities to suit your every need. Marijuana/Cannabis Recipes for Use in Cooking
Raw Marijuana Buds should never be consumed as is as the human digestive system cannot safely digest THC. In order to safely consume marijuana, it needs to be infused into other substances that one can use to cook. In this section of the book you will find recipes for such substances that will be used in the remaining recipes of the book.
Cannabutter
Just as the name suggests this recipe will provide a smooth and delicious butter with the flavors of marijuana which can be used just as your normal butter.
Yields: Cup
Time Needed: 1 hour
Ingredients:
- Marijuana Buds ( oz., finely grounded)
- Salted Butter ( cup)
Directions:
1. Set a saucepan to heat on a low flame then add your butter and allow to melt.
2. To the pan, add your marijuana buds, in batches, stirring after each batch.
3. Allow to simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring the mixture frequently.
4. Strain the mixture with a metal strainer and get all the liquid from the marijuana buds.
5. Discard the buds and store the liquid in the refrigerator to use later.
Tip: If you wanted melted butter, this could be used as is. The mixture will harden as cooled.
Canna-Oil (Canna Coconut Oil)
In this recipe you can substitute Vegetable Oil for Olive Oil or even Coconut Oil depending on with the recipe youll be using it in calls for.
Yields: 6 Cups
Time Needed: 45 minutes
Ingredients:
- Oil (6 cups)
- Marijuana Buds (2 oz., finely grounded)
Directions:
1. Slowly heat oil in a saucepan until you can actually smell the aroma of the oil.
2. Add in your marijuana buds in batches, stirring frequently after each until all as been added.
3. Cover and allow to simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring every now and again.
4. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
5. Strain in a metal strainer, dispose of the buds and store the oil in an airtight container in a cool place until you are ready to use it.
Marijuana Recipes
Now lets have some fun with our creations.
Marijuana Butternut Squash Soup
Butternut squash is full of vitamin A, fiber and potassium. This soup is hearty and will fill you up as well as is bursting with flavor. It can easily become a creamy soup by adding milk or cream.
Serves: 2 4
Time Needed: 45 Minutes
- Butternut squash (3 lbs., seeds removed and peeled)
- Vegetable oil (1 teaspoon)
- Red pepper (1, diced)
- Chicken broth (5 cups, low salt)
- Salt
- Butter (1 tablespoon, unsalted)
- Onion (1, diced)
- Nutmeg
- Black pepper
- Sour cream
- Cannabutter (1 teaspoons)
Directions:
1. Cut squash into chunks and put aside until needed.
2. Heat a large stock pot and melt butter along with oil. Then put in pepper, onion and salt to taste; cook for 8 minutes until onions are clear.
3. Add stock and squash, stir and cook for 20 minutes until squash gets tender.
4. If any squash remains, remove from pot and puree with some broth then pour back into pot.
