GETTING TO KNOW DIFFERENT COOKING SETTINGS
Keep Warm/Cancel
- The function is for canceling any cooking function that you have set previously. It puts Instant Pot in a standby mode and keeps inside food warm until you are ready to eat.
Multigrain
- The function is for cooking a range of multigrain recipes such as beans and rice mix meals.
- Default cooking time: 40 minutes
- Default pressure mode: High
- It offers additional function of 'MORE' setting; this function involves 45 minutes of just warm water soaking in which it soaks a mix of added grains and beans. Which is then followed by 2 hours of cooking time on high pressure mode.
- The 'LESS' cooking function is for 20 minutes of cooking multigrain recipes.
Manual
- The function is for manually setting cooking time as per the recipe direction.
- Default pressure mode: High
Bean/Chili
- The function is for cooking various beans and chili recipes.
- Default cooking time: 30 minutes
- Default pressure mode: High
Rice
- The function is for cooking various rice-based recipes. This function is basically for working Instant Pot as a conventional rice cooker.
- Default cooking time: Automatic
- Default pressure mode: Low
- You can use Adjust setting to increase or decrease cooking time.
Meat/Stew
- The function is for cooking various meat-based meals and making stew recipes.
- Default cooking time: 35 minutes
- Default pressure mode: High
Soup
- The function is for cooking a range of soup and broth recipes.
- Default cooking time: 30 minutes
- Default pressure mode: High
Poultry
- The function is for preparing meals using chicken and poultry varieties.
- Default cooking time: 15 minutes
- Default pressure mode: High
Cake
- The function is for making a range of cake recipes.
Egg
- The function is for cooking a range of egg-based recipes including breakfast.
Porridge
- The function is for cooking a range of oatmeal and porridge recipes.
- Default cooking time: 20 minutes
- Default pressure mode: High
Slow Cook
- The function is for cooking a range of slow cooking recipes. You can cook foods for up to 40 hours using this function. You can slow cook recipes with both HIGH and LOW pressure mode as per recipe direction.
- Default cooking time: 4 hours
- Default pressure mode: High
Steam
- The function is for just simple steaming of ingredients such as vegetables, seafood, etc. Also can be used to re-heating frozen meals (after thawing).
- Default cooking time: 10 minutes
- Default pressure mode: High
Yogurt
- The function is for cooking a range of yogurts.
- Default cooking time: 8 hours of incubation
- Default pressure mode: High
- You can use Adjust to increase or decrease yogurt making time.
Saut
- The function is for usual browning, sauting or simmering (with open lid) of added ingredients usually cooking oils, butter, onions, garlic, etc.
NPR (Natural Pressure Release)
- This is for after cooking function, and it is used when the cooking time ends to release inside naturally build pressure. It gradually releases build pressure and takes 8-10 minutes to release all inside pressure.
- When all pressure gets released, you can see the silver button on top of the lid to go down.
QPR (Quick Pressure Release)
- This is for after cooking function, and it is used when the cooking time ends to release inside quickly build pressure. It quickly releases inside build pressure and you need to be careful by covering the vent using a towel to prevent spilling of inside cooked mixture due to high pressure steam release.
