David H. Wagner is an 18-year veteran with the Los Angeles City Fire Department. He has held the rank of captain for the last 10 years.
Prior to his service with the fire department, he worked in the private sector as a fire alarm technician while studying for an associate's degree in Fire Science.
As a writer, his works include nonfiction books, technical and management articles for fire service journals, and fire safety and management articles for consumer and professional publications.

Ira A. Marcus has 20 years of administrative and facility management experience. He holds a bachelor's degree in management and is a Certified Facility Manager.
Mr. Marcus is a facility manager for Hewitt Associates, an international human resources consulting firm. In his previous employment, as Director of Facilities Management for the National Safety Council, he managed the emergency response system at the Council's Chicago headquarters.
Mr. Marcus is the regional vice president-midwest for the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), and serves on its board of directors. Prior to accepting this role, he served on IFMA's Research Committee, and was the Education Committee Chair of IFMA's Northern Illinois Chapter. He is a past president of the Chicago chapter of the Administrative Management Society.
As a strong proponent of facility management education, Mr. Marcus collaborated on the development of the IFMA's Facility Management Function Certificate Course, which he now teaches. He has served on depot University's School for New Learning Facility Management Sequence Advisory Committee.
Mr. Marcus's articles have appeared in newsletters and trade journals, and he has given presentations on a variety of facilities management topics at local and international conferences.

Bob Wagner has worked in the fire alarm industry for more than 30 years. He has held the positions of sales manager, general manager and president of a number of innovative and dynamic Southern California area alarm firms. Mr. Wagner also has served on the board of directors of the Los Angeles Burglar and Fire Alarm Association and has lectured industry audiences on a variety of related topics.
Mr. Wagner has participated in and overseen the design and installation of thousands of fire alarm and security systems, including many for notable organizations such as the J. Paul Getty Foundation, Samuel Goldwyn Foundation, Anheuser Busch and Dream Works.
